anyway yeah so i mentioned this on the cbox but here it is. troll biology headcanon thread.

My headcanons include:

Topless trolls.

Trolls do not have nipples or bellybuttons. Female trolls have boobs, though, which is kinda weird. I have the thought that trolls may have ridges on their sides where their grublegs fused during pupation, though this varies from troll to troll the way birthmarks do on humans. Some may not have them, on some they may be very prominent.

A headcanon I have for indigobloods is, since they are on the very edge of the evolution line between land and sea, they have these ridges on their necks where they almost have gills. But theyre like, sealed up. So theyre useless. Kind of like how humans have that third eyelid. These ridges are sensitive. Most dont like for them to be touched.

Speaking of, I have that popular horns-are-sensitive-do-not-touch thing going on, too.

Fingernails on trolls are orangey-yellow because horns are made of keratin and so are nails so logically they'd be the same colour. Some trolls may have black nails. It varies.

Troll eyes. Canonically, they have grey irises that fill with their blood colour as they age. I usually describe them as lightly tinted at 6 sweeps because teenagers. The tint varies because everyone ages at different rates and such, so yeah, KK is safe for a while.

Okay, so we all know that the higher you get on the spectrum, the stronger you are physically but also the more likely you are to be a total psychopath? Well, Equius is strongest, of course, because he's kind of a freak. But logically speaking this would make Gamzee, Eridan and Fef all surprisingly strong for their size. I imagine they probably don't show it, though.

The thing about Gamzee Eridan and Fef being all super-strong physically and less mentally is pretty much canon to be honest.

Anybody remember when Feferi dragged a MOTHERFUCKING WHALE THROUGH THE OCEAN TO HER LUSUS? Oh, I do. And Gamzee beat Nepeta to DEATH WITH A WOODEN CLUB/Choked Equius to death with a STRING.

Does blood warmth count as biology thing?

'Cause I want to state my headcanon that your blood warmth has to do with where you are on the hemospectrum. Like, Terezi and up would be pretty cold-blooded, gradually getting colder as you go up.

I know in Mindfang's journal, she mentions that she suspected one slave to be a lowblood because of their warmth- so I think there's some canonical value to this?

I always pictured Derse dreaming trolls to have black nails and Prospit dreamers to have yellow. Only because, canonly, I think Terezi, Karkat and Vriska were show to have yellow nails???
And some trolls just look better with black nails, those ones being... Derse dreamers. I think I only have this for aesthetic purposes haha.

Oh ears, uh, Tavros, Aradia, Equius, Gamzee and Nepeta's ears are longer, more like... animal-y? Whereas the others would have more short-pointy ears. Except Kanaya, whose would be long and elegant-like.

I guess I always thought of trolls only having hair on their heads, can't really think of it anywhere else. (however, wanna make this one crack: Vriska has really hairy legs like a tarantula and is really self conscious about them. But not really.)
I also kind of support the sensitive horn thing, as well as the purring thing. Kawaii.

^^^Yeah, that's how I usually draw Gamz's, Tav's, Aradia's and Equius'. Nepeta's kind of, but wider in width, like a cat's. The rest all being pointed upwards.

my headcanons are:

-highbloods are physically stronger and more capable,,,,, gamzee would probably surprise a lot of people with how strong he is and barely realise it himself, eridan is proud of it, fef isn't bothered but if she were of the right disposition she'd probably be able to have eridan pinned in a wrestling match

-highbloods are more inclined to violence and anger etc.

-highbloods have cold blood

-the lowest blooded trolls would be a bit warmer than humans but then i never really thought too much about this so idk maybe it goes down to human body temperature idk

-sea dwellers have gills on their ribs, being that it's closest to where water can actually be processed and is therefore biologically more efficient and also because there's more surface area there than on the neck

-fins are expressive but also a weak point in that a.) they're quite easy to damage in comparison to the rest of the troll and b.) they're sensitive,,, yes like that

-horns are sensitive but only towards the base, where they're coloured the deepest orange

-horns stop being sensitive altogether when it gets out of the deep orange bit and into the paler yellowish-orange bit so basically touching them at the base will turn someone's legs to jelly but the ends can still be used for stabbing and getting caught on things without ill effect

-orange nails, because like gamzee said they're made of the same stuff as horns so it sorta makes sense to me that way

-trolls have really great night vision, and a sunny day will probably give them a bit of a headache

-fef and eridan could both comfortably spend their lives on the seabed but the pressure would be a little bit more of a problem to eridan and it'd make him a teensie bit lightheaded

-EDIT: oh and trolls don't have to be built like a bear to be STRONG,,, aka that due to handwavium/not-specifically-magic-but-not-biologically-sensible reasons they could look like a twig and still lift a boulder. but the highblood/lowblood strength difference still stands so lower bloods tend to be stickier and someone like tavros wouldn't be any stronger than a human teenager


these are all just headcanons i have for homestuck in general, idk how well (or not) they translate to pokestuck but it's up to everyone else as to how they want me to compromise!! really i'm happy to nullify any/all of these if the majority votes against them

i guess for pokestuck it wouldn't really work for trolls to be nocturnal and unable to go out in the sun. maybe the sun on this planet is less bright? though really sunny days would likely still be uncomfortable for them.

yeah i've had to think about that compromise before in a previous rp where people being awake in the daytime was kind of important. really it's up to how everyone else in general wants to deal with it, but as a suggestion my old group dealt with it by saying the alternian sun was stronger than Sol and trolls would just get sunburn a little bit easier than humans and maybe have headaches occasionally if the sun on earth was especially bright

My headcanons for troll biology, and yes, some of it is sexual.

-The fins on seadwellers are ears.

-Seadwellers have webbed fingers and toes. Fefs are webbed to the second knuckle, Eridan's are to the first and even Gamzee's are webbed about two centimeters up.

-Troll nails are hard like claws and their toes are also clawed.

-Trolls are generally built more lean and toned than humans and have very pronounced bones. IE: Spine, collar bone, shoulder blades, ribs, etc. They are also generally a bit taller.

-It is possible for a troll to achieve orgasm through horn stimulation.

-The lower your blood, the shorter your ears. Fefs are long fins and Karkat's are teensy LoTR style elf ears. Gamzee looks like Link.

-Troll skin is slightly more tough and rubbery the higher up the spectrum you go. Fef is almost sharklike and Karkat is more like a stingray.

-A troll is identifiable as sick if the yellows of his or her eyes are pale.

-Troll eyes take on the blood color after puberty because they LITERALLY FILL WITH BLOOD.

-Every troll's fangs are slightly different. Terezi's are all the same length, short and in perfect little rows while someone like Gamzee's look almost gorilla-ish. Karkat is vaguely sharklike and nepeta has teeny little cat teeth with huge canines.

this probably isnt anything close to canon, its just a think i thought up.

i have this headcanon with ancestors and such that trolls have a six letter name until they reach maturity, then they get an title. Vriska's ancestor uses an alias. Ancestors have the same last name as their descendants. Their first names are different, though. I only really have headcanon'd ones made up for sufferer and GH, though
