Appearance: John is pretty tall for his age. Unfortunately the rest of his body couldn't quite keep up with his growth, which is why he is very scrawny. He has unruly jet black hair and bright blue eyes. His choice of apparel consist mostly of jeans or shorts, shirts with motives - like his beloved Ghost Busters shirt -, hoodies and sneakers. He also has to wear glasses.
Biography: He grew up as the only child of a single father. John would never say anything bad about him, but he had been always been a bit weirded out by his dad's obsession with Mr. Mimes. His whole home had been stuffed with figures and posters of this Pokémon. John's mom died when he was very young, so he has no real memories of her. Other than that, he had a typical childhood. He went to the local kindergarten and school, where he had a few friends. John met his best friends online, though. Jade Harley is one of them, even though they never met before.
Most of his friends already got their first Pokemon and started their journey before John even thought about this possibility. But after a long talk with his father he decided to follow his friends as a Pokemon Trainer.
Personality: John is a very optimistic person. He is easygoing and a bit simple minded. He can be quite the goof sometimes, especially when he is in his prankster mood. His pranks are never harmful, though. He is very good at making friends, even with the strangest people. He has no problems with saying what is on his mind, even if it's the bitter truth and he might get into trouble for it.
His hobbies include playing piano, video games, programming and of course watching movies. His room is covered in movie posters, he even has a whole wall dedicated to his favorite actor ever, McConaughey. John is very proud that he knows almost every movie McConaughey has been in. Other actors he likes are Nicolas Cage, Adam Sandler and Liv Tyler.
John never cared much about sport and hat actually been a bit chubby before puberty. The growth spurt combined with the rising disinterest in the cakes and various other sweets his father prepares for him led to his current scrawny form.
He also boycotts everything from Betty Crocker. Yes, even Fruit Gushers
Goal: John became a Trainer to do what his Dad always wanted, but never could: Travel the world, befriend humans, trolls, cherubs, carapaces and Pokemon, learning how to take responsibility in an easy and adventurous way.
He is actually more interested in finding and catching Pokemon than training and beating other trainers or Gym Leaders, but since everyone is doing that, he will give it a shot, too.
(Oh, and he wants to catch a Mr. Mime for his Dad, but pshhhht!)
