"Well terry, it seems to me that i haven't the foggiest idea as to where we are," Jake said. Standing among the fences it seemed that they were going nowhere fast. The fences themselves were almost a foot taller than Jake and seemed pretty tough to try and climb over. Jake wished that he had a flying type friend but he hadn't seen too many pokemon since they had gotten onto route 13.
Jake still wasn't getting any signal through his skulltop so a map was definitely not on his list of available resources. He did thankfully have a compass. Though without a proper idea of where Fuschia city was, the compass was really no help at all. "Any ideas chap? We could wander aimlessly for a while, but it would be nice to be able to set up camp while out of these fences. Do you think there might be someone else out here?" he asked his pokemon. Terry just shrugged his shoulders, how would he know? He'd been here with Jake the entire time.
It wouldn't hurt to try, Jake thought before bellowing,"Hello? Is anybody out here?"
Rufioh isn't not sure exactly what he was expecting when he came off the boardwalk. But it wasn't a maze of tall picket fences. Timberbull balks at the narrow passageways. His wide-spread horns can barely fit between the fences. He CAN fit, but it's not exactly comfortable.
"Oh... You okay there, Timber? You just uh, let me know if you wanna go back in the ball... If it's easier for you and all."
Then he hears a familiar voice. A friendly voice.
Looking through the slats in the picket fence, Rufioh makes out another figure. Someone wearing green, and without all the recognizables of a troll. "Hey, over here... On this side. Yeah, here!" He waves an arm or two to get attention, since it's a little tough to see between the slats. "So... Is this regular design around here? Fence mazes...? Is that a Kanto thing, or..." Assuming the human is from around here. Quite possible he's just as weirded out by this route as Rufioh is.
"Oh... Hang on, I'm just gonna... Cheat a little bit here, kinda..." Rufioh tugs out a Pokéball the only one with a resident, and points it toward his Bouffalant bud. The beast returns to the portable sphere, making it a lot easier to travel with him. Then all it takes is a few flaps of those large brown wings, and the bronzeblood is up and over the fence, so he can come face to face with Jake, as he lands gently on the other side.
