The power plant had been abandoned since an experiment went wrong back when Betty Crocker had tried to make a new product. Something having to do with communication. She couldn't recall the details at this moment, but as she looked over the wreakage left over, Jane wondered what exactly happened. It looked like someone set off a bomb on the eastern wall and all the debris was flung everywhere.
Regardless, they were there for a mission. More pokemon. Her eyes scanned the wreakage, trying to find places to put her footing so that she and her cousin wouldn't fall over anything there.
"John be careful." She called back as she lifted her leg over some drywall from the remainder of the wall. "I dont want Uncle Egbert to call me because you fell on your face." She joked before she wobbled. Her foot had twisted a bit as she stepped on a pile of rocks she had forgotten was there. So much for telling John to be careful when she herself wasn't.
"I uh meant to do that." She added sheepishly, regaining her footing and continuing forward.

John had heard the rumors about this place. Ruined in a Crockercorp experiment? Man, just what kind of evil contraptions were they trying to create, that ended up destroying an entire Power Plant???
But that wasn't important right now, he guessed. What was important? Why, more Pokemon, of course! Specifically something electric. Since becoming a ruin, the place had become overrun in electric Pokemon. Not great for restoration projects, but pretty cool for trainers like them! John hoped he found a Pikachu, everyone knew they were like, THE companion Pokemon.
He rolled his eyes at Jane's instructions as the picked their way through the building, laughing when she fell over. What a good cousin he was. "Hahahaha! Smooth, Jane. Need me to call uncle Crocker?" He was going to help her up, honest, but by the time he had finished laughing, Jane was already back on her feet.
John climbed ahead, grabbing onto a loose wire for support. Which turned out to be a terrible idea, as he swiftly received a mild electric shock. Nothing deadly, but enough to cause him to yelp!
She hadn't exactly fallen. More like just...lost her footing for a moment. At his words and laughter, she twisted her head and shot him a glare.
"Don't--" She couldn't warn him before the dumbnut grabbed the wire and shocked himself.
She winced as she heard his yelp and sighed. Leave it to John to do something like touch an exposed wire with no idea what was going to happen. SO. NOT. COOL.
"You okay?" She asked, her hands on her hips as she waited for him to catch up. She was already past all the major damage, and inside the building. And of course, sporting her fetching fedora and mustache. After all, a detective is only as good as her appearance. You're pretty sure that's how the saying goes.
"I'm fine!" John insisted, "I uh... also meant to do that! Duh. Colonel Sassacre would definitely be proud of the heights of slapstick we are attaining, here." That was probably true, actually. Him and Jane's antics were hilarious. Perhaps they should form some kind of comedy duo? That would be soooo sweet. He did not even mind if they had to do detective themed skits.
He scrambled after Jane, stumbling on the odd bit of rubble. He was a little tempted to put on one of his hilarious disguises, since she had the mustache and fedora. Maybe a bowler hat and pipe? Or MAYBE a really long wig, which would be funny because they'd have a sort of gender-reversal thing going on.
Would that be really gay? Cameron Poe had long hair, so hopefully not.
Whilst John was still pondering on this, he spotted something. It looked like a Pokéball! Clearly having forgotten all his experiences when playing Pokémon games, or maybe because his devotion to comedy was just that strong, John approached the ball. "Hey, Jane. Check this out!"
Jane often prided herself in being the most skeptical of all her friends (and family). She always double checked everything before taking a step, and as such avoided many of the normal dangers to a child's life growing up (braking a bone and big things like that).
It came as no surprise that when her brother cousin avoided more serious damages to himself from the exposed wire, she clearly became worried. Sure, who doesn't love a good adventure, and as such one is bound to get hurt on something, but at the same time, he sometimes had a disregard for his own safety when it came to the adventures.
Her eyes widened as she saw him headed towards a pokeball, which she was pretty sure was too big to be a Crockercorp item, and hastily began to jump the concrete.
"Jo--" She dove towards him, missing the point of pushing out of the way. Her calculations were off (not to mention how short she was compared to his huge self; seriously he got the all the height genes while she got stuck being the shortie. Stupid no good genetics...), and instead of him being moved, she hit his lower back and his knees, sending him to the floor. The blast stopped her from voicing any remarks at his behavior as she let out a small hiss.
When she opened her eyes again, part of her arms and her back had burns on them.
"John I thought you called yourself a Pokemon master." She rolled off of him and looked at the burns. They weren't too bad; she's had worse when baking. Instead of worrying about that now, she turned to the source of the explosion: an angry Electrode. Gulping she scrambled away, eyes wide as she saw how angry it looked.
"I don't think it likes us very much."

The large sphere is smoking from the recent explosion, but it looks quite prepared to enact a repeat performance. Its round surface bulges, a warning sign of pressure building within its core.
By the sounds of it, John and Jane weren't the only ones affected by the explosion. Squeaky cries wail out from the left.
Two electric bunnies collapse from the explosion's blast. One of them climbs back up to its paws, suffering minimal scrapes and bruises.
The other one is faring much worse. He was closer to the Electrode when it went off, and was thrown against a hunk of electrical equipment in the blast. Not only might he have a concussion, it's opened a gash on the side of his head.
The blue bunny, a female, rushes over to her brother's side, clearly distressed over his injuries. In fact she's the one making the noise, not the one who's in pain. On the contrary, the red bunny male tries not to make a big deal of it. Still, when he tries to sit up, he can't help but wince and strain. He puts a forepaw to his head, and pulls it away to look. His paw comes away red...redder than it naturally is from the fur colour.
Meanwhile, someone is Charging up electricity...

"Ouch..." John sat up slowly, feeling himself over for any serious injuries. He'd hit the floor pretty hard, but he only had a few bruises. It hurt a little, but he was mostly okay.
His face fell when he saw what had happened to Jane. God, he needed to be more careful. His cousin looked pretty badly hurt, and it was almost entirely his fault. Gingerly, he stretched out a hand to her. "Fuck, I'm sorry! Are you okay, Jane? Why did you...? We should really get out of here-"
"I don't think it likes us very much."
Wait, shit. The Electrode was still there? Damn, he always assumed they died once they self destructed? Or at least fainted or something. Whatever it is Pokémon do. But it was still standing, if looking a little worse for wear. And it looked seriously pissed off. His first instinct was to grab Jane's hand and make a dash for it.
Then that he heard the squeaks.
Oh man, not only had his stupidity hurt Jane, some poor little bunny Pokémon were injured, too! One of them was even bleeding. His gaze darted between the Plusle and Minun, and the Electrode they had angered. He kind of doubted they'd be able to get out of harm's way.
"We gotta help those guys!" John exclaimed, in what might have been yet another stupid decision. Without hesitating, he tossed a ball into the air, summoning Casey. "Quick, we have to stop that thing from exploding again. Casey, hit it with an Ember!"
Jane was shocked that it was still up. Usually an Explosion like that would have made the pokemon faint. What gives???
She blinked at the sight of some fabric floating away, and she attempted (successfully) to do the highly probable FACEPALM x2 COMBO. A Focus Band. Whoever created those things needs to stop. They never work when your own pokemon wears them but when a wild pokemon uses it its like the miracle potion.
Screw this.
"Use Cotton Spore!" She called out as she tossed her pokeball. The cottonball jumped out with a laugh and spun in midair. The fluff that came off its head (head? back? We just dont know) latched onto the Electrode, and she grinned. There goes its Speed stat. As Scamp continued to help John and Casey, she started moving towards the two electric types, ignoring the sparks that appeared on the Minun's cheek as she approached.
"Take it easy, I'm not going to hurt you." She gently picked up the Plusle, inspecting the damage as Scamp stood between his Trainer and the Electrode. "Leech Seed." She called out. Its health wasn't at the highest, so maybe the attack would stop it from attacking.
She only hoped she was right.

The Plusle forces himself up, forces the stinging out of his mind, and grabs hold of his counterpart's blue paws. He's going to protect his sister, injuries be damned.
And now a battle is breaking out, on top of it all!? The two bunnies cling together, watching a fire lizard hop into the scene and spray its embers on the smoking sphere. Minun really hopes that won't set off its "fuse" again...
Electrode takes the embers without care. His body's already smoking, what are a few singes gonna do, right? As for the Spores and Seeds, they would have a hard time finding a place to cling or take root, on the smooth round body of the large orb. He takes all the semi-effective hits directed to him, confident toothy grin plastered on his face all the while, even as he winces an eye shut. Either that or he's winking at them...
Jane: "Take it easy, I'm not going to hurt you."
Plusle refuses outright. He fusses as the human tries to pick him up and check on his head. It's not a pretty sight - it's a wonder that he's staying conscious, really.
Meanwhile Minun stretches her arms upward as her brother is lifted away from her, still quite worried about him.
At last Electrode's charging reaches its peaking point, and it discharges almost as violently as the explosion earlier. Everything within a radius of several feet of him suffers its electric wrath. The humans and bunnies are far enough away to avoid it, but the Grass and Fire types fall prey.
Plusle has had enough! He squirms free of Jane's grasp, and leaps back down to the ground with his sister. Now is the time for action, he'll get his head examined LATER!
The two bunnies join paws, chanting and charging energy between their bodies. Are they...cheering? Both bodies give off light blue electric sparks, and as they release, beams of that energy shoot from Plusle into Casey, and from Minun into Scamp.
But it's not an attack! Both Scamp and Casey feel new power within them, new energy, new courage!
