Main Character (Kid) Application
Name: Dave Strider
Starter Pokémon: Torchic ♂ (Sauron) - was almost nicknamed shades, but Bro convinced him not to. Feisty and a little naive. lil shit is adorable
Hometown: Saffron City
Biography:
Having grown up in one of the busiest and largest cities in the region, Dave often felt cooped up, living in the top of one of the many towers. Being cared for by his bro, Bro, who wasn't exactly the most lenient when it came to his rules. Dave was taught that the city was a risky place for a little kid. Still, it didn't stop him wanting to go out there. Despite Bro's aversion to it, Dave left the tower many times to explore without his permission, and got a taste for it one day when he left the city. Bro isn't allowed to know that he did that, obviously.
Personality:
Dave likes to think he's one of the coolest kids around. Of course, he's not - he spends too much time staring at a computer screen, making up 'ironic' raps and having a pair of sunglasses basically stuck to his face. Having been home schooled, he acts out a bit sometimes, feeling the need to aware people of his presence, and how confident and awesome he is. Never mind that he has the occasional doubts when it comes to that - he's not telling anybody that anyway. He often rolls things off his back in a light-hearted manner as such, able to take a few too many jokes, and make them himself. In fact, he's a bit too good at avoiding big issues in that exact way.
Roaming the city on his skateboard when he got that little bit older, he has his doubts about leaving his bro - after all, the guy cared for him, even if in his own special way with all the combat training and being kind of creepy. Dave admires him a hell of a lot, so family comes first for him, and his friends may as well qualify as his family too a lot of the time.
His Torchic grew attached to him before he really got a choice, having been looking at the earth Pokemon when it sidled up to him. Torchic was persistent enough to make him like him, and so Dave took home the little dude, despite the nagging in the back of his mind that said having a Torchic was rather uncool.
Goal:
Dave's ultimate goal is to go out and see the world. Though he has side goals of making the perfect pokemon team, and training them to the highest level possible, it really comes down to that - making friend, seeing things. Doesn't mean he isn't going to do everything he can to be the best on the way.
