Name: Jake (Jacoby) Ryan English
Starter Pokémon: A level 05 Tyrouge Jake calls Terry. Terry is actually Jake's partner Pokemon so even though he has a pokeball it is kept in the deepest pocket of Jake's bag.
Hometown: Dewford Town.
Appearance: codtier.tumblr.com/post/45903069060/jake-english-by-kanda3egle So, this sums up most of what I had in mind. Hairy, kind of gangly, muscle definition but not overly so. Uh, I imagined him being around Dirk’s height about an inch or two in between the two boys.
Biography: Jake always just had his Grandma. She gave him all he felt like he needed, somewhere to sleep, food, and dreams to bounce around in his head. Although he got curious sometimes he never pressed Grandma for details about his parents because he knew it was a difficult story. Jake was mostly home-schooled and stayed in the house in the mornings with his grandmother who let him play as many movies as he wanted while he did his studies, giving him a great love for them. Aside from spending time with his Grandma, Jake also liked to go and explore the island that was his home with his grandmother’s Lombre.
Then around the time Jake turned 12, Jake went adventuring alone and met a Ranger. Curious about him, Jake followed him around the island. After witnessing the ranger's heroic rescue of some island Pokemon he went up to him and started pestering him about what he was doing. Enamored with the idea of traveling and helping Pokemon in trouble he invited the ranger for dinner and spoke more about the duties of rangers. After discovering that they had a major base in Kanto he worried that he might never be able to join. Bidding the ranger farewell he waited two years until his online friends told him that they were all to meet up in Kanto together he decided to take the chance. Finally with his friend’s plan to meet in Kanto in place, Jake took the leap to join the rangers. So after a Bon Voyage party Brawley (The gym leader giving the new trainer a Pokemon of the type he specialized in, as per tradition on the island) gave Jake a Tyrouge who is just as eager for some real adventure as Jake is!
Personality: Jake loves adventure and wrestling, and writes in a very peculiar way that he probably picked up from Grandma. It would also appear that Jake has a strong appreciation for those movies and an allergy to peanuts. He has a fond regard for the blue-skinned ladies that appear in many of the movies they own. Despite being so adventurous and action ready, Jake is not very assertive and extremely clueless socially, making things quite awkward in record time with his friends. Growing up alone on an island with no people his age to interact with seems to be the cause. Also because of this he is shown to be incredibly self-centered albeit unintentionally, sometimes only contacting his friends to talk about himself. Despite this he is quite the listener with his grandmother and under her teachings has developed a deep respect for all Pokémon but particularly admires Fighting, Grass and Water types.
Goal: Jake wouldn’t even have been able to go on this journey without both Grandma and his friend’s encouragement and help. So he feels like he owes it to them and himself to go out and do his best. Jake wants to join the rangers and improve people's lives.
EDIT: Oh my gosh! I feel silly now for not have finding those! Okay! I can work with that! Thank you so much for letting me know! Though if I could get an explanation on why these blasted things don't have a lovely little reply button that would be fantasmical! Thank you again!
