Finding herself traveling to Route 24, she lowered her goggles to over her eyes. She flashed out her 2x3dent and gripped it tightly in one arm. She secured her bag and made sure it'd stay closed but made the pokeballs inside easy to access. So she had yet to buy a fishing rod but who's to say she couldn't go fishing herself? She took a deep breath before exhaling. Only one downside to this afterwards: the wet mop her hair would end up leaving with her clothes. Imagine if she ended up tripping on her own mess. Without much more thought she climbed up onto the railing of the bridge and plunged down into the water below. She swam deeper inward to try and scope out some pokemon. This better get something for her in the end.

"Piii!" Piplup had been living in this water for a couple of days now. And it was rather unpleasantly warm! nothing like the cold waters of northern Sinnoh the penguin-Pokemon had grown up in.
Sadly, those days were long behind her. She'd been captured by an middle-aged trainer on a skiing holiday, and brought back to Kanto as a present for the trainer's younger brother.
Five year old kids probably shouldn't be allowed to take care of Pokemon. This particular brat was spoiled rotten, and spent most of his time yelling at poor Piplup to use moves like Hydro Pump and Whirlpool, and hitting her across the head with a stick when she was unable to follow his commands. A truly vile little kid.
One day, when he was having a Pokemon battle with another kid on Nugget Bridge, Piplup decided to make a break for it, and dived off the bridge and into the water. Living here hadn't been comfortable, but it had sure been better than living with that awful kid!
So when what looked like a trainer dived into the water, Piplup was understandably alarmed. Was it her "trainer", come to re-capture her? Deciding she wasn't going down without a fight, the Piplup swam at the figure, and gave them a sharp peck on the ankle.

Feeling a peck at her ankle, she retracted it quickly in short-lived pain, swimming slightly upward. She immediately spotted the Piplup and growled at the culprit. She was about to summon out her meowth, but then she realized her mistake.
She had decided to dive into the water in search of a water type pokemon with a normal type pokemon.
Yeah, she probably should've thought this out better. Good thing she wasn't completely armless. Not realizing that the penguin pokemon would perhaps chase her if she showed signs of aggressiveness yet still swim away, she stayed put thinking of a game plan. Her main battle plan for now though was to get the wild pokemon out of the water at almost any costs.
Spinning her double sided trident a bit to get used to it in the water, she headed quickly downward, thrusting her weapon to the back side of the Piplup. Either she could cause the thing to propel forward and closer to the surface or wound the creature and make it easier to toss it out of the water. Either way, as long as she didn't kill the thing, she'd be fine.

Piplup looked at the troll girl in surprise when she swam downward. Darn, and she was so sure she'd scared the trainer away! But it looked like she had only made her angry. Oh no!
The Piplup watched the troll swimming carefully, trying to work out what her plan was. Was she going to send out a Pokemon??? Hit her??? No, hitting would hardly hurt underwater, she was probably safe from any abuse-
"Piiiiiiiii!"
Yeouch! Piplup had received a swift poke to the butt form the girl's pointy-golden thing, sending her shooting upwards. But rather than coming clean out of the water, Piplup decided to use the momentum from the strike to swim away as fast as possible. This girl was clearly a lot worse than her last trainer, and there was no way she was letting herself be caught!
She swam confidently, hoping the fact that she was slightly injured wouldn't hamper her ability to escape.
So darn close too! Ugh, looked like she had to keep fighting underwater. Good thing she was a seadweller, because she didn't think she'd be able to swim as quickly after the piplup if it weren't for that (not that being able to breathe underwater for a long time wasn't another good advantage as well). Holding her trident out in front of her, she started swimming after the creature. While it may have been small and had a nice shape for acting like a missile, it was injured. This obviously would slow it down than it would've been if she had tried to chase after the pokemon when it wasn't hurt. Remember kids: Stabbing is the way to get what you want! Lowering the trident so it'd be pointed downward slightly, when she was able to be at least a good distance away from it she tilted it upward once she thought it was below the other with all her might to hopefully launch it upward.
"Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!" Struck again??? This was the worst! All the Piplup's worst nightmares come to fruition. It went soaring out of the water, landing in some of the tall grass next to Nugget Bridge with a thump.
Looked like fighting hadn't worked. Or fleeing! Time for one last resort: hiding. It crouched in the grass, trying to make itself as small as possible, hoping that the trainer (who was still in the water) wouldn't have seen it.
It also readied a bubble, just in case it needed to make a surprise attack.
Yes! Finally, she could bring the battle up to the surface and really duel it out! She swam up as quickly as possible before performing a high jump out and onto the bridge. She took out a ultra ball, calling out: "Boon, it's shoaltime!" At those words, the meowth launched out of the tossed, spinning ball. The ball predictably bounced back in her hand before she stuffed it away into her inventory. Looks like the piplup had fleed or hid away. Well, perhaps a good intimidation might scare them enough to show a little sign if they were still there. "Boon, Growl," she commanded. With a nod, Boon made a ferocious growl into the air with haste.
Oh no, was this girl ever going to leave her alone??? And now she had a Meowth! A deadly one with scratchy claws and a scry growl! Piplup pondered her choices.
1) She stayed hidden. It didn't look like they were going to give up, though, they were bound to find her sooner or later! Asnd when they did, she'd be almost completely helpless!
2) She made a run for it. But what if they chased her? Her feet were small, and she wouldn't be able to make a very fast getaway on foot! Not to mention she was still injured from the trident attack!
3) Fight! Maybe this was the only choice? If she were to attack now, at least she'd have the element of surprise. The growl had given away the Pokemon's position, after all! If she was lucky, perhaps she could defeat that Meowth!
Nodding bravely to herself, Piplup fired a stream of bubbles in the direction of the sound.
