Q: Help! Where do I put my application/how do I apply?
A: A four-step guide:
1. Copy this.

Q: How many characters can we play?
A: You may take on one Main Character and one Side Character. If you show enough dedication and activity, you can ask to take on a second Main Character.
Q: How old are the characters?
A: The kids are all 14. (6.5 sweeps or so, for trolls.) The includes alphas, too! As for the other characters, that's entirely up to the players.
Q: Is this a Humanstuck AU?
A: Nope, the trolls are trolls, the humans are humans, and the carapaces are carapaces.
Q: How does that work?
A: All 3 species have been living on this ambiguous Pokémon planet for some time, although they all have a lot of cultural differences. The trolls are regarded by the humans are pretty violent, and there's a lot of racial prejudice in general. Despite this, the towns are such are usually fairly integrated, with the different species all living together. Inter-species relationships are uncommon, but they happen from time to time, and friendships between the three species are becoming more and more frequent.
Q: Are trolls still related to their ancestors?
A: No. With the exception of Feferi and the Condesce (Feferi is heir to the Kanto throne) the ancestors and their corresponding kid troll are unrelated. Although if you want them to have some link to them, get in touch with the other roleplayer about it. For example, Mindfang is still Vriska's idol, as she found her journals in this universe, too.
Q: What about the pre-scratch ancestors?
A: For the purposes of this AU, the pre-scratch ancestors and the post-scratch ones (eg, Latula/Redglare) will be treated as separate, unrelated characters.
Q: But they all have the same sign/name!
A: We're hand-waving it, sorry.
Q: Are there any plans to include cherubs?
A: There are now! Calliope and Caliborn are Main Character trainer kids, however they must share a body as they do in canon. Therefore, a lot of collaboration OOC is required between the players.
Q: What about kid relationships?
A: Each beta kid and their alpha counterpart (e.g. John and Jane) are cousins! The other kids are unrelated. Get in touch with the other roleplayer if you want to work out the details. If you want to change those relations, that's fine too! This is just the default.
Q: Do the characters know each other?
A: All the characters are at least aware of the others through online interaction. How well they know each other, what sort of relationship they have and whether they have met in person or not is between you and the other player, though.
Q: Do the characters use sylladexes?
A: Nope! Characters have bags with seemingly infinite space in them, as is Pokémon tradition.
Q: Which Pokémon are included in this AU?
A: All of them! Though it's set in Kanto, we're having Pokémon from all of the games pop up. There's more fun and variety that way. But if you want a team full of just oldies, that's fine too.
Q: Can we catch shiny Pokémon?
A: Yes, but try not to be silly about it! A whole team of shinies if out of the question, and it'd be a bit much if every character had one. They are especially okay if the Pokemon's shiny form gives it a link to the character (eg. John's Charmander is shiny because then it bares a closer resemblance to Casey.) Other mutations in color are allowed if there is good reason for it (eg. Redglare's Dragonite is albino to give it a closer link to Pyralspite.)
Q: What about legendaries?
A: For now, probably not. We'll definitely do plots involving the legendaries, though.
Q: Do we need to buy HMs?
A: Not necessary in this AU! The moves still exist, but a Pokemon does not need to know "Surf" to ferry a person across water. That's just silly.
Q: I want to do a plot about X.
A: Post about it on the plot discussions thread and we'll work it out. Or the cbox! If there's a specific rp-er you want to ask to thread with, try sending them a message.
Q: How do I put up my avatar in the CBOX?
A: Copy the image URL, and paste it into the "email" field.
Q: Do the Pokémon games/anime/cards etc still exist?
A: Yes! They're based on real life, but they're still things. Feel free to have your character make references to Ash Ketchum if you like.
Q: I can't get Pesterchum to work on my computer!
A: Don't worry. Using Pesterchum is not obligatory, you can simply carry out pesterlogs on a thread if you prefer.
