Damara Megido
► スターター:
► NICKNAME: Oyuki
► SPECIES: Froslass
► TYPE: Ghost/Ice
► GENDER: Female
► LEVEL: oo5
► ATTACKS: powder snow | double team | leer | astonish
► PERSONALITY: Mysteriously reclusive and silent, Oyuki prefers to keep to herself. She never likes to be out of her Pokeball and, when she is, she stays close to Damara. She and Damara have been together since they were both young, and Oyuki is very protective of her. She mothers her constantly and views her as a child.
This, naturally, bothers Damara. But, all in all, having someone care for you isn't too bad, right?

Stripped of all of her makeup, Damara looks almost childlike.
She has large, rounded eyes and thin eyebrows, but she covers these extensively. Her eyes are traced in large, sloping lines that make them appear more slanted, and she covers her eyelids with dark maroon. Topped off with thickened, drawn-on eyebrows, she hardly resembles herself when she's made up.
Her lips are large and she has prominent dimples in her cheeks. She cakes bright red color onto her lips and is never seen without it, though she can't do much about her dimples.
Which is of little consequence to her. She thinks that they give her a certain unique charm.
While she has the potential to be a darling little girl, with too-big cheeks and a too-big smile and, perhaps, a too-big heart, Damara covers it all away behind layers and layers of too-much makeup. Two locks of hair curtain her face, almost trying to hide the disservice she's done to he features, and the rest of her hair is pulled up in a large bun, making her look much more mature overall than she would naturally.
She's a petite girl, hardly touching five feet in height, all of her features appear tiny, too. She has a small, heart-shaped face with tiny round shoulders, and a small body to match. She's thin, though her body does promise to fill out more once she gets older. Her waist pinches in slightly and her thighs are bigger than she would like them to be. She knows that she'll even out in time, but she can't help but be disgruntled with herself presently.
She usually paints her nails with intricate, overly cute patterns. She likes nail art to a fault, and it often clashes with her otherwise "mature" appearance.
As does her choice in clothing. Having attended private schools for most of her life in Johto, she's figured out how to wear school uniforms in a way that flatters her body.
It's become habit of her to wear them, though she also likes how versatile they are. If she ever becomes upset with how one of her outfits look on her, she can simply cut them until she deems them presentable.
Which her principals never saw in the same light. She used to get suspended for her "creativity" with her uniforms.
But that had never bothered her, and old habits die hard.
As they say, after all.
She wears long socks and flat shoes, maroon and white, like the rest of her clothes. Her favourite accessories are her hair sticks, which she nestles safely on top of her head.
But, despite everything, her too-small horns peek from her meticulously maintained hair, and all efforts to look older are off. She's just fourteen after all, and no amount of makeup or low cut clothing can change that.
She still tries, though, and underneath her guise of maturity lies herself, puckish and childish -- a disturbing mask over youth.

► 生い立ち:
A few days after Damara was hatched, she was scripted to become a kimono girl at the Ecruteak City theater. Girls are selected at young ages and trained all of their lives to become picturesque examples of youth, talent, and beauty.
Though she was selected by a lusus (as is traditionally done) she received little attention from it, as they were separated once Damara was capable of eating and living with little to no help. She was ushered into a world of delicate, painted faces and perfection as soon as she was able.
Damara had been a bright, happy girl; she quickly picked up dance moves and got along wonderfully with her fellow trainees. They were all taught ancient arts, only taught within the theater, and they all found specializations. Damara had a knack for acting, but her painting skills were only rivaled by a few other girls, as well. Everyone loved her sweet personality and gentleness. As all fully fledged kimono girls were to be given an Eevee, Damara had already decide to have hers evolve into a Glaceon. Her friends had all agreed -- nothing could symbolize her delicate nature better than ice.
Before being completely conscripted, all trainees are sent abroad to learn the culture of another region for a year. Damara was sent to Hoenn.
While she stayed in Lillycove, she often would venture far from where she slept. Naturally, this brought her to Fortree, where she met him.
Her first infatuation was a boy named Rufioh, and every time she visited they always made hasty plans to do something together. She became an honourary member of a silly group in Fortree that he was incredibly active in. He taught her a bunch of things that she found silly, but was enamored with anyway. In return, she taught him Japanese. They watched undubbed, unsubbed anime together.
She found this all very romantic.
But it was not to last. On one of her last days in Hoenn, she had a falling out with Rufioh.
A large falling out.
She doesn't discuss it much.
But it had made her feel murderous for the first time in her life -- she had been filled with indignance and loathing.
Luckily for Rufioh, she had to leave before she could act on it. Unluckily for her, it never quite left her.
Her fellow trainees came back happy from their trips -- enlightened about the world that surrounded them. Damara had become stoic and cold, and any attempt to pry was met with a curt, rude comment and a glare.
They had never seen her act so awful to someone before.
Damara found it hard to see people in the same light. Their smiles seemed faked, false -- their feelings became of little consequence to her.
It all went downhill from there.
No trainee had quit their training before, as all trainees led blessed lives, but Damara did. She up and left one day, leaving her yukata on the back of one of the chairs as she left.
She was on her own for a while, and along the way she met unsavory characters and picked up nasty habits. Just six months of this, and Damara wasn't recognizable from her past self any more.
Eventually, she got it within herself to go back to school, but not her Kimono Theater one. She went to local Pokemon schools and picked up how to train -- how to defend herself with Pokemon. She got kicked out of every one, usually for conduct issues or uniform violations.
Eventually, she got it within herself to leave for Kanto, seen to be the main battleground for all prospering trainers. She doesn't know who she wants to be, or what she wants to do, or what business she even has in this foreign land, but she's hoping to figure it all out along the way.

Previously a demure, shining example of a girl, Damara now proves to be an incredibly crude person. It's very easy to slight her, and she holds grudges. It's rare to be forgiven by her anymore, even if the transgression that has happened was long ago in the past.
She's a very jealous type and will go out of her way to make people's lives miserable if she feels they deserve it. Damara's destructive personality makes it almost impossible to get close to her, and in some cases she's happier that way. She often limits herself in decision-making, as she doesn't like setting herself up to get hurt.
But there's a certain loneliness that punctuates her actions, and maybe if she'd just let somebody in, she wouldn't be nearly as detestable.
Damara is bilingual, though she prefers to speak in Japanese* as it is much more comfortable for her. She speaks in broken English when she does choose to employ it.
But she loves power over people, and the power of knowing something that others don't has never lost its luster to Damara. She'll purposefully say crass and overly complex things to those who she knows, reveling in the fact that they don't know what she's saying.
She tones it down to acceptable levels around people who actually understand her, though her innuendo is still there. She's not nearly as sex-driven as she could be concluded to be, but there's no doubt about it -- she's rather promiscuous and kinky (especially for someone her age).
She doesn't trust easily at all. It's nearly impossible to gain her trust, and all too easy to break it once she does trust you. She doesn't have many friends that she considers close as a result, but this does not mean she's not capable of empathy. While she'd like to pretend that she could just toss aside someone's feelings, she can't entirely.
This isn't easy to observe on her exterior though -- she combats this alone and doesn't voice it. But it seldom changes her actions, as she feels that attempting to rationalize other's actions when she's hurt is unfair to her.
She's aggressive in speech and mannerisms. As she can't communicate her grievances sufficiently in a language that people understand, she often turns to violence first.
She has a negative opinion on trollkind -- including herself. She doesn't see herself as much beyond her body and has low self worth. As she can only see this in herself, she reflects it onto other people; she sees people as bodies and objects rather than emotional, living creatures.
Damara won't take a risk unless it's one completely fabricated by her -- this is especially evident in her sexual kinks. But in reality, she hates guessing games, and typically tries to take the winning side. She's prone to betrayal, however, as she is not a loyal person and will switch sides as soon as the outcome is more favourable on the other side.
All of this puts Damara under a lot of personal pressure and the ilk. She turns to drugs to help her through situations, so she's often able to appear collected under stressful circumstances. She smokes marijuana and, on occasion, tobacco, though the former is her preferred drug.
While she is needlessly cruel, she's capable of being kind. She's capable of lending an ear to a "friend" and feigning embarrassment. This is usually manipulative, to attain a goal that she's set for herself, though it wasn't too long ago when such was her actual personality. She can channel this part of her and easily resemble the innocuous girl who she once was.
She also has retained some semblance of her past interests as well. Damara loves cute things, and will often opt for a cute Pokemon over a stronger one. If she can get a Pokemon that combines these two aspects, she's the happiest trainer on Earth.
While she often reflects on who she once was, she doesn't regret her change and seldom feels remorse for her actions. While she may admit that she's a victim of circumstance, she never uses this to excuse her actions. She's in charge of her life, while doctors may try to tell her otherwise, and she's not insecure. She made her choices on her own accord, and she's not about to play victim.
*While this is a dialect in canon, I don't think such a "dialect" would appear in this setting. Because sending people to googletranslate is rude and taxing, when I roleplay her I'll italicize everything she says in Japanese rather that using the actual language.
