》 NAME !
Kanaya Maryam
》 STARTER POKEMON !
MULI THE COTTONEE
GENDER: Female
TYPE: Grass
LEVEL: OO5
MOVES: absorb | growth | move | move
NATURE: Silly, impetuous, and a little demanding, Muli is kind of the polar opposite of her "mom." While by no means stupid -- though Kanaya might think so much -- she does tend to laugh a little too often, roll her eyes a mite too much, and do goofy little actions with a frequency that is, in a word, alarming. Mischievous by nature, she's a little too willing to go off and pull some kind of fast one on somebody.
She's definitely a mama's girl, though, and at the first sign of trouble is very quick to puff back into her coordinator's arms, shivering and making a scene with herself. She hasn't learned how to play nice in the sandbox yet, but to Kanaya, she's a doll.
》 HOMETOWN!
The Desert, Middle of -- Hoenn
》 APPEARANCE !
(visual of body type for those of you who don't get words: alice cullen.)
Kanaya is fairly tall for a troll of her blood caste, standing (with impeccable posture when she's not distressed) at 5'10''. Despite her lack of real maturity (she is, after all, only six sweeps old), Kanaya's figure is on the real verge of filling out -- though she does possess a much more boyish, square torso than anything else. She has muscled, firm features that stretch and are vaguely cat-like, and she is graceful in just about everything that she does -- barring, of course, flustered and embarrassed moves toward anything.
While she doesn't have much of a figure at this point in time, Kanaya does make every attempt to accent every imagined inch of curve she might delude herself into believing she has. Dresses are stitched in tightly with form-fitting precision, shirts are kept just so in order to make herself pop, and accessories are mulled over with taxing care and an impossibly serious attitude.
Broad shouldered, with a very prominent collar bone. Angled, sharp and attractive in the face. Every expression she seems to take can be broken down into three categories -- irritated and serious, flustered and pleased -- the first of which is the most common. All three categories, however, say the same thing when you get to the bare bones of it:
This bitch will kick your ass.
》 BIOGRAPHY !
A native to Kanto, Kanaya has spent the bulk of her life isolated from much of civilization in the vast desert of Hoenn -- a place that, due to recent eruptions (dating back only past the last seven sweeps or so) has not be properly even used as a passway for quite some time -- not that she and her mother live anywhere near the road. As it is mostly devoid of other lifeforms, Kanaya grew up relying on only two things -- herself first, her mom second.
Within her volcanic, dry home she usually makes an effort to keep up the flora in the area, cultivating the soot and sand into making plants that are truly formidable. There isn't much else to do in the place besides that, though her mothergrub did make sure she was not without a Pokemon once she was around two sweeps old. Mostly for company -- Kanaya has always been able to handle herself.
As the desert is, in all parts, desolate and not worth braving to leave in most cases, even for simple errands, Kanaya has taken up getting her socialization out of computer chat clients. It is here that she has met basically everyone she knows, and she does everything that she can to make them know they are dear to her even though she can only really talk to them and nothing else really.
Oh, and get their pictures -- not that everyone is down for that and that she completely understands. Which is why she gets them in secret.
Viewing ports are the best, though sometimes she has trouble angling the screen appropriately.
While her life with her lusus is a charmed one, they both know that she needs to learn how to make it on her own -- and sooner, rather than later (due to her lusus' short lifespan), and they both came to the conclusion that this would be best accomplished by throwing her out into the world -- sink or swim style. Though Mother personally would not want this for her charge, it was unanimously decided to be the most efficient way to do things.
And Kanaya is nothing if not deadly efficient.
And so she is off to make a name for herself and learn to adapt to a wildly changing world -- until she has to fulfill her end of the bargain, of course.
But whatever. All good things must come to an end, as they say.
》 PERSONALITY !
Prim and practical, Kanaya doesn't take challenges lying down. She's got aspirations, goals, things to do in her life -- and she fully recognizes the importance of such. A regular young lady, she puts up a good effort to seem in control and rational among her friends, but is, in reality, just as prone to minor irritations as the next person -- she just doesn't let it show unless the perpetrator is a repeat offender. Once fully flared, however, she won't stop at anything to extract revenge.
Incredibly protective, and grim in demeanor. While she acts as if she might be above dirty work, in truth she just doesn't care. If life has decreed that she do any number of rather nasty things, who is she to argue? Once she is faced with a challenge, she steps up to the plate and takes care of it.
Though she is not overtly kind in nature, she can be considered benevolent -- she does try to please the ones she is close to in any way that she can, ranging from services to small tokens of her appreciation. While she considers herself good with words, she has never trusted them to adequately express the devotion and love she feels for her friends and those who surround her -- so what she cannot vocalize is show by action. There is little that she won't do to help someone she considers dear -- she is a mediator, a calmer, a do-er, and, in some cases, a doormat.
Though it would not be wise to tread on her.
Sassy and hard to impress. If anything, she is slightly aloof in how she treats newcomers, as on a baseline she tends to give people the benefit of the doubt -- that meaning, she believes they are every bit (if not even moreso) capable as she is. This often ends with her getting frustrated, because, as it happens, once she gets to talking to people she finds she dislikes them more often than not. While she is more than willing to deal with blunt stupidity from people she already likes, she will not tolerate it in a new person. If anything, her preconceptions lead her to disliking new people more, as they very rarely actually fulfill her (what she considers low but others might call impossible) standards.
Once displeased, she tends to make her irritation apparent in more ways than one. Usually she will opt for simply sassy comments on the intelligence of her peer, though in more extreme cases she goes full cold shoulder.
Blunt and resourceful, with an extreme sense of duty.
Finds herself attracted to danger and mystique -- she delights in things she doesn't totally understand, though they do confuse her (which irritates her). She finds people who she feels are dangerous are the most important in the world, and thus most deserving of her attentions.
In some ways, she sort of wants to be the girl who is able to calm the beast -- though she does recognize how stupid that really is and refuses to talk about it, even if someone does press her for details.
A little bit of a romantic, to be sure -- but she hardly lets it show. She fully accepts and in fact invites others to come to her with their romantic and relationship problems, relishing the opportunity to help others and simmer situations. However, if one were to ask her about her own feelings on her own flushed capacities, she would shirk away from the topic, bury it, and never allow it to be discussed again.
Privacy, she feels, is paramount.
Often has difficulties putting her thoughts together concisely, and has been known to ramble. A lot.
Has a fondness for pleasing others, comfortable pillows, curling up with a good book every now and again, intensely hot days, well tailored dresses and getting caught in the rain.
》 GOAL !
[/blockquote][/blockquote]
Adapt to changes, have an adventure and get a lifetime's worth of danger and intrigue before she is sent to tend after the standing mothergrub.
She realizes, of course, she is sort of on borrowed time here. Though maybe getting her own clothing line before she has to go would be nice -- which means topping out on the coordinator circuit.
Might as well try.
