It dawned on her that the spotlight during the contests was nothing when it involved performing in front of a friend- knowing full well that the friend's judgement was to take part in the showing off portion. Thinking about this Aranea took a deep breath, preparing herself for her more than likely terrible, performance. Looking to the Eevee she snapped her fingers of her right hand, getting the Fox's attention and causing the quite happy Pokemon to return to standing in front of her. "Now I hope you're not expecting too much." She says as the Eevee turns to face away from her and look to Meenah, determination now in the little pokemon's eyes.
She took a seat down on the good old ground and propped her elbows up on her knees in front of, her chin placed on a hand or two as she was about to watch intently. "I was going to since you're a chummy frond of mine, buuuut since it's your first time, I'll cut you some slack. At least I think it's your first time."
"Good guess. I haven't really done much in front of others when it comes to moves and such." Aranea says as she places her hands on her hips. Taking a small breath she thinks about the moves a moment before speaking once more. "Alright- Let's start off and wish for the best~" She says, as if she genuinely was going to do so- as the Eevee twirled in a circle before jumping up, stars began to form and rain down on all of them as the little fox sat down, raising it's head with her eyes now closed and opening her mouth to let out a soft tune- of e's of course- as the Stars fell, causing her fur to glow a bit golden where the stars began to touch her.
Her eyes widened as the stars descended seemingly out of nowhere. Had the other even said an action command? Maybe she was one of those trainers who preferred to keep everything a dirty little secret and only told it to their pokemon either in private beforehand or if they had the ability- telepathically.
It took a while to form in her head, but then she realized perhaps she did say it. Wishing and stars had something to do with each other, right? Her once amused and cocky grin melted into an awed smile. My, this was flashy! To think she had lowered her standards for this.
Good move, Serket. Good move of yours. Totally took her off-guard.
Aranea tried hard to keep herself focused on the task at hand as she raised her hands. "And let's shoot right through the crowd- Tackle our destiny-" She says as Xinli looks up at the stars and suddenly rushes forward into them, leaving the stars to trail behind her as they began to fade away. The Eevee then quickly flipped back- just before she ran into Meenah and landed on all 4 paws, the last of the stars fading and hitting the ground by her feet.
Jumping slightly when the eevee landed near her along with traces of stars, she was slightly disappointed that they disappeared but nonetheless was impressed. Waiting a few seconds to see if she was going to do something right afterwards, she gave a nonsarcastic and actually genuine and peppy shower of claps for the other. She was definitely ready to immediately stop it in the case Aranea had something else to show her, but in the meantime she gave a loud and sharp whistle of approval.
Aranea didn't want to show off too much, glancing towards Saffron City a moment before looking back to Meenah and curtsying- while bowing mind you- to her friend as the Eevee mimicked her and bowed as well, kneeling down on one of her front legs. As she straightened up so did the Eevee, knowing full well the routine and the seconds it took for the entire thing. "And that ladies and gentlemen is the preview for the highly anticipated performance." Aranea takes a deep breath before folding her arms across her chest. "Now how about a demonstration in return?"
Man, was she excited for Aranea's performance now at the contest. To think she didn't think much of it until now. Holy smokes was Aranea onto something when she droned on and on about them some time ago.
"Now how about a demonstration in return?"
"Um... what?" she blurted out quickly and calmly. Her proud grin had been lifted off to a questioning frown. "Am I hearin' stuff wrong or?" She took a finger and rubbed her fins. "You do reelize I have legit no idea what the hell to do, right?"
"Well I was thinking along the lines of a 'I show you some of mine you show me some of yours system'. You don't have to be fancy with it or anything and really you don't have to try to impress me I'm just curious as to which moves you're going to win the pokemon league with." Aranea smiles trying to hide her enthusiasm before placing her hands on her hips.

"..That it?" she asked with disbelief. Taking this into account, she nodded shortly after and gave a cocky grin. A thumbs up to top it off. "A'ight! You got it, 'Ranea! Though I'm shore I'm getting some better moves for this bad buoy later. Haven't really leveled him up or anyfin." Clearing her throat, she was about to summon her starter until she realized he had already been sent out. Drats. Breathing in, she raised two fingers up to her mouth and let out a hard, sharp whistle into the air. She then looked to where she had entered the route in from, hollering, "OI, BOON. Get your flipping ass over here, bow and center!" The meowth caught onto this and started dashing over at the quickest speed he could over to his trainer. When he neared her, he hopped into the air and flipped forward before landing on his feet, stumbling a bit to regain his balance. Standing straight and tall the two, she proudly commanded him: "Alright: It's our tern to put on a shoal, sailor! So let's follow the roetine— got it? We betta make a titanic impression on that eevee an' her trainer with what little we got so far. I know we ain't really trained for showin' off, but whatebber. We can tidally do this shit." Boon nodded with a sharpness to his eyes. "Alright yo, make your presence known to those asshoals trying to steal some of your food with a growl that'd make some custodian lion-like beast proud!!" Out came a fearsome and low growl that started out quiet and soon quickened and crescendo'd into something tremendous and loud.

Aranea kept her hands on her hips as she watched, focusing on the Meowth and his trainer as he landed in front of Meenah. Waiting a moment she heard the sentence, recognizing at least one of the words as a move and then following it was the growl she had expected. Xinli continued to watch the entire time, and the growl- as fearsome as it was- caused the Eevee to back up a little bit, bumping into her own trainer as her tail went from up to down, following the motion of her ears. Aranea noticed this an knelt behind her Pokemon and rubbed behind her ears to calm her as she continued to watch.

"Alright, now those suckas are intimidated, let's go out and scratch 'em!" she commanded next. She quickly slipped in something quieter and less energetic afterwards as a side comment, "Don't actshelly scratch 'em though, just give the two a good taste of what it looks like, got it?"
Boon raised an eyebrow at this but begrudgingly accepted this anyway and bounced up, letting his claws slice the air with a little bit of a glow before retracting them a few moments after landing.

Aranea watched and Xinli tried to remain calm, slightly flinching as the claws passed by in front of her. After it was done Aranea clapped a little bit as the Eevee moved behind her, hiding a bit. "Quite the show. And you say you're not meant for the shows."

While Aranea clapped, Meenah motioned for Boon to follow her in an extremely proud bow. Her ego inflated as she replied in a cocky tone, looking elsewhere as if it was a thing she did all the time.
"Glad you liked it, though I think Im'ma stick to training and conquering. Might pop in every now an' then where I'm bored but I'll stick to letting you steal the shoal. Glubbin' a' such, is it time yet?"
"I'm not quite sure but I'll head over there shortly in case it is." Aranea looked in the direction of the contest hall. "Would you like to come and watch?" She asks before turning back to look at Meenah. If she said no then she'd be a bit upset but would deal, it was really Meenah's choice.
