She had arrived on the boat earlier and finally walked over to the metropolis that was Saffron City, a massive and populated city. Especially compared to Four Island. It was a bit jarring, really. She'd get used to it real soon though. At least, she hoped so. Tossing an ultra ball in her hand, she whistled a ominous tune in minor key as she slowly traveled around on the streets. Occasionally she stopped and stared at a building or a particular tree, but it was typically short before she moved on. She sighed and soon grew tired of exploring. She must've already stepped on every square inch of cobblestone in this place. Or at least it felt like it. She then flopped onto the ground and leaned next to one of the various fire hydrants.
"Cod, this plaice is borin," she whined loudly to no one in particular before she looked at the ultra ball once more and released Boon in an attempt to remedy this issue.

Aranea had been busy with the contest, she continued walking down the streets, finding little things to do before the next portion of the contest had begun. Xinli walked beside her, just looking around at the buildings as her tail swayed left and right as she followed her trainer. Aranea hadn't been paying much attention, looking the book over in her hands, excited to finally have some time to read it since the last time. Not paying attention Aranea practically walked down the sidewalks, allowing the swish of her Eevee's tail to guide her where she walked.
The Eevee however had found something- or someone of interest. Without hesitation it hurried over to Meenah, recognizing the girl as she sat in front of Meenah and let out a small mewl like noise. Aranea, now without her guide, was quickly brought back to earth when she tripped on one of the curbs and almost crashed to the ground as she struggled a moment to regain her balance before placing the book aside to look around for her Eevee. Her eyes locked on the small brown fox pokemon before drifting up, higher and higher to look at the face of who her Eevee was so intent on seeing. "M... Meenah?" Aranea said quietly, a bit startled by her friends appearance. Here she had been looking for her for almost three whole days now and here she was.

Seeing the Eevee walk up to her, she raised an eyebrow and leaned forward. She stared intently for a little bit before blowing up her cheeks and lightly waved a hand forward in front of the Eevee's face. "Yo' Eev, shoo shoo." From the fact that they stayed, she moved her hand a little closer and squinted, wearing a stern frown. "C'mooon, I ain't got all day. What d' ya' even want? If it's my gold bling, no way in Hell am I givin' it to some random pokemon. Shoooooo!!" She fell back onto the side of the fire hydrant discouraged and crossed her arms against her chest and pouted, substituting her boot for her hand.
Wait a second..
There was someone else there. There had to be. She definitely heard a voice of some sort even if it was a little faint. Leaving her leg in the air as well as temporarily forgetting about the pokemon in front of her, she whipped her head up and looked around confused before she spotted the other.
Everything clicked together. This HAD to be the very same Eevee from those years ago. Yes, she was certain of it now. The pieces somewhat fit together from the memories she could remember off the top of her head when she saw that one face.
Looking up at Aranea, she gave a smile and lowered her eyelids. "Sup. That's you, right Aranea? Oooor is there more of you out there that I should be lookin' out for? Cod, I couldn't deal with that to save my life with all your ramblin'. Gonna make me fall onto the street and snooze outta nowhere."
Aranea just watched Meenah quietly a long moment, not thanking Jegus for her good luck just yet until Meenah spoke, Thank Jegus it was Meenah, not some look alike, not that anyone could really look like Meenah and actually pull it off. Without a word Aranea placed her book in her bag and turned to face Meenah, walking towards her as she spoke. "I'm quite sure that there's only one of me. If there are others it's quite possible that the other Makara I met might have mentioned something." She stopped, behind her Eevee as the brown fox pokemon continued to try and get around Meenah's foot. "You could have told me in your letter where you were running off to." Aranea sighed heavily and folded her arms across her chest.
"But of course that wouldn't be your style would it?" She said, cracking a small smile, a wash of relief flowing over her as her search was thankfully over for the moment. Aranea was fighting the urge to ramble, knowing how Meenah loved it, and she thought she was doing well- well... until she just kind of started rambling. "So what's your plan? You never really mentioned what you were going to do in your letter. Perhaps become a 'Pokemon Master'? There seem to be a lot of people working on that, pretty common but then of course it is, everyone wants to be the best." She finally stopped for the moment, remaining quiet as she allowed Meenah a chance to reply.
Xinli gave up on trying to get around Meenah's foot by the end of the speech and sat next to Aranea, yawning lightly before scratching at her ear. She had no idea what was going on, only that she knew the other girl and well her trainer seemed to want to say a lot. Aranea didn't notice the Eevee moving really as her eyes remained on Meenah and continued to watch the sea-dweller with a certain intrigue and more.

Her expression only got more emphasized and comical with that smirk of hers. It'd only be a inch or two before she'd resemble the Cheshire Cat. "Heh, of cooourse. You got me there, Serket. Where's the fun in tellin' when you could do something big and catch me? That didn't happen and probably never would though what with you bein' boring as fuck. Nope, just walk 'round and make yo' Eevee sniff me out. BIG SHOWSTOPPER YEP. Aranea Serket: Master of Performing and Extreme Acts! Man, make it more exciting and I might even throw in a buncha fish puns, free of charge!" She shook her hands frantically with a feigned shocked expression. She stared back at the Eevee and raised an eyebrow, "Is that a thing your thing can do anyway? Sniff me out? Could make a pretty handy map, if you ask me. Just for finding souls and stuff." She wiggled her eyebrows with a face that simply exclaimed, "Ehhh? Ehhh?" Just add a wink and a nudge and it'd be the whole set.
Leaning back with her hands behind her head, she thought about the question. "Hmm.. yeah! Sounds like a pretty solid and great idea if y' ask me! Thought of maybe making an army of the little buggers too."

Aranea: Defend your honor
Alright so maybe it's not that easy to defend your honor, but you were sure going to try.
Aranea just watched Meenah quietly a long moment as she spoke before sighing and placing her hands on her hips this time. "I am not boring I'm practical. If I'm going to be able to get enough Pokemon to win the contests I need to know the area and therefor have been studying books on the various locations and pokemon in the regions of Kanto. They are rather interesting as well so don't say I'm boring when I end up being able to get to the top with what I do." And with that little statement Aranea stopped, just realizing what she had said as she turned her head away, raising a hand to cover half her face as she closed her eyes.
"And please Meenah, could you refrain from teasing my poor Pokemon? We've just been through a wonderful round of the contest and I would prefer her not be worked up for Round 2, if we even make it past 1." Yeah, she was frustrated at this point, but not with Meenah of course. Maybe a bit riled up from her friend but not frustrated, that would have more than likely stemmed from something on her end. Maybe the fact that she hadn't studied this all before which allowed Meenah the ability to poke fun at her in the beginning. Good job Aranea, kind of failed with preparing yourself for the encounter.
"As far as making an army you can only have 6 with you at a time to choose wisely for your 'dream army' pokemon." Aranea finally looked back to Meenah, her Eevee was now hiding behind her legs as she looked to Meenah, feeling as though maybe she had defended her honor- well maybe was a good start.
She rolled her eyes. "Alright, alright. Be sure to tell me when you do reach the top though and I'll be sure to congratulate you with something pretty awesome. Guaranteed. Though I'd personally just try and catch all the ones that look pretty cool and figure out things on my own. Just sayin'."
"Fine fiiine, I'll quit it for now," she whined, pouting. After a few moments, she raised an eyebrow. "Saaay, how long are these intermissions anyway if you're just walking 'round? Maan, are they even in the same day? Can't imagine doin' the entire thing over a couple of 'em. Glub." She stuck out her tongue in disgust at the mere thought of waiting for hours.
"Aww man, are you seeeerious? That tidally sucked out all the fun in my plan. I could've had like a mob stomping around town following me and be like, my followers or some shit like that. How the shell am I gonna choose only six to be my BEST soldiers? Sounds stupid."
"Perhaps I was a little too harsh with my words, I didn't mean to stomp on your plans of Kanto domination but if you're planning on doing it through the Pokemon League than yes, you can only have 6 pokemon. If you were planning on just dominating the region well... I suppose you could use more not that I'm advising you to do such just that it's well, the rules." Aranea sighs lightly and shakes her head. "As far as the contest is concerned well, we get a bit of time between each round I suppose. I thought maybe a nice walk would help settle any nerves Xinli and I might have." She looks down to the Eevee before looking back to Meenah. "And I suppose a little teasing is okay, I mean it's not like you two are complete strangers to one another you just haven't had a chance to sea each other in awhale-" Dang, so close but yet so far- those fish puns got her as she reached up and covered her mouth hoping that the other troll hadn't heard them.

"Whale, leave it to me! I'll get through it no matter how many times they try! I'll make the BEST team ever! Heheheeeh already in my grasp now that I got a pretty brill-iant pokemon! I can picture it, me bein' champion with lobsta pokemon though some of 'em being backup in my PC and it looks FINTASTIC! It might be ruff an' all, buut I can reelly do it! This op-perch-tuna-ty is not gonna go down even if I can't use more than six." she exclaimed with a confident look on her face, adding dramatic hand motions along with it. She turned back to Aranea and reverted back to a less energized state. "I seeeeeaa. Whale, consider me on board to following you back to the contest place. Gonna see if you're crayative or if it's any fun at all hahahahaa. Who knows? It might even be gillarious! Would kelp ya, but I don't think they'd let me."
"Waaaait a second there Serket... Did you.."
"You did.."
"Aw man.."
"YOU TIDALLY DID,"
"..DIDN'T YA'?" She was now bouncing a bit though she was clearly calming down in her levels of excitements. "I loove you so much right now you don't even know. Wasn't so shore if "see" was actually "sea" but man "awhale" totally took the piece offa that cake! You could've said "awhile" buuuut you put a long 'a' sound yeeees! <3" "Is this a new record this has gotta be a new record you haven't succumbed to the fish puns so quickly as now hahhaaa yes it's gotta be someone betta write this moment down now. Man you suck at covering these things up but it's okay yo' fish pun totally made up for it."
Post by Aranea Serket on Nov 15, 2012 23:27:28 GMT
"Yes it's a record." Aranea said sighing lightly and letting her arms sag a moment before moving to their normal stiff like locations. "It's probably the fact that I didn't think to stop myself. With being away from your presence for so long well it makes sense to me at least." Folding her arms across her chest she watched Meenah bounce a bit with her eyes before they settled on the now, calmer, Meenah. "Are you done gloating of your awesome victory against my vocabulary?" She asks and shifts her weight to her other leg, causing her hips to shift to the other side. "And I would rather enjoy the company to the contest. I'm sure I could use the confidence you normally glow with." Aranea couldn't help but smile when thinking about it as her face softened a bit, no longer as serious looking as it had been.

She stood up proud and tall hearing this reassurance. "Hahahaa this brill-iant! I'm gonna make a nice an' shiny gold medal for it OR maybe a cake with some huge ass frosting screamin' 'ARANEA SERKET FALLS VICTIM FOR THE FISH PUNS YET AGAIN!' It'll be great!" She held her arms out as if she were imagining a newspaper headline dramatically. "Okay, I'm done now. Though I'm sea-rious 'bout either makin' a medal or a cake. I'll give it to ya' even!" She nodded, "Whale, consider yourself a marvelous deal then! I'm comin' with you fo' shore! Whenever it is anemone-way."
Post by Aranea Serket on Nov 17, 2012 17:46:30 GMT
"Well thank you Meenah for such consideration in a milestone you are proud for me to have crossed. Though it's quite possible that your 'puns' are more than likely going to come a bit more frequently from me if you hang out too long. That's something to look forward to at least." Aranea says smiling a bit before folding her arms across her chest once more. "I could do without a medal though, perhaps a cake would be better." She says just going along with what Meenah had been talking about feeling rather relieved that Meenah was alright with tagging along to the contest. Of course that meant Aranea had to do better to make her friend proud, but that was just a small detail.

"Whale, that's fine by me! The more, the merrier! An' fiiine, no reel gold for you then. I'll drop the best cake you've EVER tasted onto your table or roof or whatever with a big SPLAT! Speakin' of which, where in the world do you live now? Betta not be some crabby plaice or a some run-down apartment or else I might hafta meddle with everyfin myshellf and get you somefin worth it. You brought some sweet cash, right?" 38I "Alsoo, hope we don't get lost in order to get there. This contest hall thing is big, right? Can you like, point to it and I can be all, "OH HEY THAT'S TIDALLY A CONTEST HALL WOW I'M SUCH A SCHMUCK FOR NOT SEEIN' THAT!" or will I be all, "hahaha wow they really need to get some moolah and renovate pshhh"?"
"I live in Castelia city over in the Unova region. I only came over here to find someone that's all, but then the contests began and well I think satiating my curiosity about the contests by partaking might not be too terrible of an experience." Aranea says and shrugs her shoulders a moment before relaxing once more. "And of course I didn't get lost, if anything I had a map to guide me in the right direction before I spotted the Contest Hall."
She shook her head and frowned, groaning. "Aw man, I think I knew that already. I mean, like, unless you take a boat and come over here or swim whenever there's some contest, where do y' stay otterwise. Or are ya' like me an' just dock and crash at whatever place you find? As for the contest hall, I was askin' if it was big an' cool and stuff. Though good to know I'm not gonna be following someone who's gonna act like they're blind! The less issues, the better."
