I wanted to have a place to talk OOC about plans for the Midnight Crew/Team Rocket.

To my understanding, right now we have two Crew members so far, and one more on his way (reserved).
But we don't have any plans for integrating them into the story yet.

I have some ideas to bring to the table, but I don't really know the protocol around here, so I propose an open discussion.


First appearance

Slick and I both had the idea of having our first appearance at the Pokémon Contest. We could crash the party, and try to make off with the loot (Prize money or trophy, and the Pokémon on stage at the time).

Obviously this is MEANT to be disruptive in-story, but is it TOO disruptive to throw that in in the first contest? I personally don't think so, but I'd like to hear other opinions from those who know a little more about the Contest.


Team Rocket Motto

Team Rocket traditionally has a motto they chant when they appear. I thought it would be fun to have one of our own. But if most of you guys think it sounds too cheesy, please let us know.

I wrote up a first draft. It takes the rhythm and feel of the original Motto and converts it to Midnight-Crew-style lyrics.

I'd love some constructive criticism on it. For example, when there's an "/OR/" listed, which line sounds better? And you can just toss in other suggestions/rhymes/phrases too.

Who should say which line? i.e., is it more fitting for CD, or SS, or DD, to say the line "To trample each head on our rise to power"? (Avoid having anyone go twice in a row. And it's okay if CD has less lines than the others, he's a flunky after all)

I like "To plunge this world into damnation." and "To gain more might with every hour." I can see Hearts saying the penultimate line, but I dunno where he would fit in to all of this.

I am cool with the idea of them crashing the contest. Kanaya is in charge of contests though, so it would need to be run through her.

"To gain more might with every hour" seems like I pretty SS thing to say. Or alternatively HB if we get one.

It doesn't really matter, I guess.

We should deffo hold a Midnight Crew meeting underneath the Rocket Game Center sometime.

Think about it. It would be like this, but in the Pokémon world.

Should we hold off on it? Or is that a thing that should happen now/soon?



Additionally, I would like to see one of the kids or trolls stop by the Game Center itself. Clubs and maybe Droog could be staffing it. If Droog's there then you can bet the kid's gonna get stiffed. XD

I like this idea. We could have the MC establish the idea for the contest crash. (and maybe we could discuss what the MC are gonna do after that?) It should probably take place before CD gets Darkleer's Durant.

I like the idea of Droog staffing the game corner. A lot of characters are in Saffron and it wouldn't be too unreasonable for them to make a trip to Celadon.

Okay, so is this contest-crasher scheme still cooking? And what are all the Durant for? Refresh my memory here, Crew.

It is. We're only gonna step into the scene once the award ceremony comes about, though. That way every RPer has a chance to do the contest.

Besides, nabbing the winning Pokémon, and the prize, is the best of the bunch.



We can imply that Boxcars brought a huge cage of Durant up to the roof but he couldn't stay for the whole job (taking care of security behind the scenes).

Crash the contest award ceremony by opening the roof or blowing a hole in it.

"> MC: Descend casually" from the hole, maybe onto a catwalk, or maybe on a floating Pokémon? Say their motto.

The Durants crawl in from the roof hole, crawling along the walls and generally causing a panic under which the MC can work under.

Basically through the panic and through brute force (Durants are strong), MC steals any Pokémon on stage at the time, and any prize being awarded.
