Main Character (Kid) Application
Name: Dirk Strider
Starter Pokémon: SQUAREWAVE the SCRAGGY. Male. Squarewave is an eager, hyper Pokemon that is ALWAYS ITCHING FOR A BATTLE. Nevertheless, in all the years Dirk has known him, Squarewave has NOT WON A SINGLE MATCH. That could be because he only battled against Dirk himself and the hypercompetent SAWTOOTH, a BISHARP that WENT MISSING MONTHS AGO and was never seen again.
Hometown: Castelia City, Unova
Appearance: Dirk is KIND OF SKINNY, although he’d RATHER BE RIPPED as a RADTACULAR BRO like himself should be. He’s been working out, and if you get drunk off your ass, turn your head and squint, you can almost see a little bit of tone to his muscles. Sort of. Not really. He ISN’T INSECURE ABOUT HIS PETITE FRAME, though.
He has RED HAIR that is somewhat CURLY, although typically his hair is STRAIGHTENED and GELLED into the glorious… thing it is now. Also, the TIPS of his hair are SOMETIMES DYED BLONDE so his hair will resemble fire. Eyes are AMBER.
Biography: Dirk grew up with his MOTHER in a highrise APARTMENT in CASTELIA CITY. He has a HALF-BROTHER that is so much older than himself that Dirk BARELY REMEMBERS LIVING WITH HIM at all. He works on VARIOUS MEDIA including webcomics and movies, and they have a mother in common.
Dirk also has ANOTHER HALF-BROTHER with a FATHER in common: Dave Strider. However, he lives in an entirely DIFFERENT REGION than Dirk.
Personality: Dirk has an OPEN MIND and is really NOT SICKENED OR OFFENDED BY MUCH. He also has a lot of SELF-CONFIDENCE.
He’s the SCHOLARLY type who will willingly learn about basically anything, but there are a few subjects that hold his attention the most: Pop culture, mythology, ancient civilizations, and people. He is the type who tries to look directly into the mind of the person he’s talking to. Once he has made his opinions about somebody or something, he will be rather BLUNT in sharing them. Though he is good at figuring out people, his opinions about them are NOT ALWAYS CORRECT.
Dirk is generally pretty ALOOF and CALCULATING, but he genuinely cares about his closest friends and is great at listening to them. His brusque, machiavellian manner causes him to sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally step on his friends’ toes, though.
Dirk is into robotics, horses, philosophy,men with animal features, and especially PUPPETS AND VENTRILOQUISM. He actually thinks puppets are 100% unironically cool. What a WEIRDO.
He has a tendency to CURSE and use METAPHORS.
Goal: Dirk is quite the AMBITIOUS young man, and as such has QUITE A FEW REASONS to go on his journey, including displaying his eclectically awesome STYLE and stealthily ironic sense of HUMOR in CONTESTS, researching Kanto’s MYTHS and CULTURE, KICKING ASS, -though not necessarily in gyms- and GETTING SQUAREWAVE SOME ADEQUATE EXERCISE SO HE’LL STOP HEADBUTTING HIS FUCKING LEG.
