The Signless (Arosha "Suf" Atrium)
Gym Leader/Champion.
Pewter City
Fire Pokémon
Volcano Badge
Appearance
Arosha has shortish, but somewhat wild hair, which is usually hidden underneath the hood he habitually wears. The hood and cloak help him hide from the masses and, well. He thinks it looks badass. Apart from the cloak, his outfit is really pretty simple. A black shirt with a red decorative pattern (he's proud of his blood color, dammit) and a pair of black pants. In terms of body, Arosha is rather average-looking. Medium height, average build, etc. His most notable facial features are the dark bags under his eyes. Arosha doesn't sleep that much, and has something of a coffee addiction.
Biography
Unlike most trolls, who are raised by a lusus, Arosha was brought up by the Dolorosa, who he thinks of in a way not dissimilar to the way a human thinks of their own mother. He grew up in Celadon City, but quickly set out on his own Pokemon journey.
He quickly discovered he was something of a prodigy, with a particular affinity for fire Pokemon. On his travels he met Merric (The Psiionic) and Felisa (The Disciple) and quickly become firm friends with them. Along the way he also observed human culture, and began spreading his own philosophy to anyone who was willing to listen.
Eventually becoming the Champion of Kanto himself, (why Her Imperial Condescension has allowed this is a mystery, and rather troubling) Arosha found a far wider audience for his ideas, and has something of a cult following.
He preferred not to stay at Indigo Plateau however, opting to settle in Pewter City. The Gym being somewhat short-staffed after the death of Pewter's Leader, he was asked to take on running the Gym as a secondary role. He's been somewhat lax in the way he runs it, but Arosha is a competent leader.
Personality
Arosha Atrium, The Signless as most call him, Suf as his friends sometimes nickname him, is known to most as the Champion of Kanto with the dangerous, revolutionary ideas (that the Empress is most definitely keeping an eye on). However, despite being Champion, Arosha is the Gym Leader of Pewter City first and foremost, and rarely leaves for the Indigo Plateau unless called for. Pewter City is an important home he has a lot of sentimental attachment to (despite growing up in Celadon) and besides, he just loves providing a challenge for new trainers and seeing their early potential. He’ll often give them gentle advice, and looks forward to coming across them again someday. Very few actually reach him at the Indigo Plateau, of course. The Elite Four are tough!
So, those dangerous ideas of his. Arosha firmly believes that all trolls are even no matter what their blood color, an idea he finds particularly plausible when he looks at human society. Sure, it has its own fair share of weaknesses and problems, but he can’t help noticing how unified they are overall. Arosha is a huge admirer of human culture, and is in favour of humans and trolls living together in a more harmonious way, despite their differences in species. He has quite a few fans and followers, and is a rather influential figure with a cult following, much to the annoyance of her Imperial Condescension. Arosha likes to preach his ideas to others, but only when they seem genuinely receptive and interested in what he has to say. Once he begins, he is a very passionate and convincing speaker, with true vision.
Outside of his “political” career and his job as a trainer, Arosha has a far more light-hearted, relaxed and jokester-ish type of personality. Whilst he takes the things important to him seriously, he is not above having a laugh with some of his fellow Gym Leaders and other friends, as well as his Pokémon. Arosha is also prone to occasional bursts of extreme anger. It is difficult to anger him, but once enraged he has a tendency to get really carried away, cursing and yelling furiously. This is a side of himself he absolutely detests, and he tries to avoid showing it to others at all costs.
Champion Team
King the Typhlosion
Level 66
Moves: Inferno, Rollout, Defense Curl, Blast Burn
King was Suf's first Pokémon, which he raised from a Cyndaquil and has been his pal through thick and thin. He Suf's strongest Pokémon and also shares much of his personality and world view.
Mandela the Houndoom
Level 62
Moves: Crunch, Firefang, Faint Attack, Thunderfang
Mandela really, really likes biting. But behind his slightly scary appearance and mannerisms, he is one of Suf's weaker Pokémon. Still, Mandela is an incredibly loyal Houndoom.
Lama the Volcarona
Level 64
Moves: Heat Wave, Silver Wind, Quiver Dance, Fire Spin
Suf caught Lama while travelling in Unova, and his companion always reminds him of his journey there. Lama has a more gentle personality than his other Pokémon, and cares for the others.
Cowan the Flareon
Level 60
Moves: Fire Blast, Smog, Bite, Quick Attack
Quick and agile, Cowan is one of the newest additions to Suf's team, and is still getting used to her team mates. She is excitable and hyperactive, and doesn't take battling as seriously as she probably should.
Friedan the Ninetails
Level 63
Moves: Inferno, Captivate, Will-O-Wisp, Confuse Ray
Friedan is rather haughty, thinking herself rather above the others and above battling in general. Secretly though, she cares deeply for Suf and her team mates, and works hard to keep up with them.
Lennon the Magmar
Level 65
Moves: Sunny Day, Fire Punch, Smokescreen, Fire Blast
Lennon is laid back and somewhat lazy, only ever bothering to train when instructed. When he can be bothered, though, Lenon is a powerful ally.
Pewter Gym Team
King Jr.the Cyndaquil
Level 16
Moves: quick Attack, Leer, Smokescreen, Ember
King Jr. is the youngest member of this team, and the offspring of Suf's beloved King. Both King and Suf completely dote on the little Cyndaquil.
Chakrabarti the Pansear
Level 14
Moves: Scratch, Incinerate, Lick, Fury Swipes
Suf caught Chakrabarti recently, and is planning on training her to be really great. In the mean time, battling rookie trainers is the perfect training for her.
