When travelling from place to place in this Roleplay, make sure to progress naturally! Use the Routes provided, like in the traditional Pokémon games.
We're assuming that the world is bigger than it appears in the games. The forests are larger, the roads longer, the cities containing more than 10 buildings, etc. As a result, you're free to improvise on what can be found in each location.
But the size of the location does mean it will take some time to complete a route! Longer than 30-seconds, anyway. Most routes would probably take at least an hour to traverse, usually more.
Trainers are on foot by default, but feel free to get creative with their travelling methods. They can ride on the back of a Pokémon to get around faster, obviously. And if they have a flying Pokémon big enough to give them a lift, they can go for it. Likewise with water Pokémon to help them cross water. There are no HMs like Fly or Surf or Cut in this roleplay. Just use logic! No riding on the back of a Spearow or anything.
You don't have to roleplay every single journey you take, but make sure the timeline is consistent! You can't cross the region on foot within a day. For journeys you want to skin over, writing a brief summary is acceptable. For example, "After travelling through the Underground Pass and following the path on Route 6, John finally arrived in Vermillion City..."
For keeping the timeline consistant, and seeing what characters are where at what time, you should always refer to the Timeline Thread.
If you want to cross the region faster, and are willing to pay a small fee, there is a PokéTaxi Service that you can use. This will give you a lift to anywhere in Kanto.
