HI HO GUYS I AM NOT A STAFFIE BUT I THINK THIS THREAD IS NECESSARY SO HERE IS ME PUTTING MY PLAN INTO EFFECT I HOPE NO ONE MINDS

Okay. As it stands, PokeStuck is in trouble. Characters are getting dropped and replaced super quick and we're not even out of the starting thread. Posting is sluggish and sporadic.

Now, personally, while I'm all for the groups idea, it doesn't seem to be working out just yet! Plus the all-for-one big superthread. Too many people are relying on each other to move forward, and due to real life being a big drain on time and motivation, it isn't fair to keep nagging people at every post.

What I suggest is for us to liquid-ify! Split up and search for clues! Ideally:
Everyone who hasn't already got their starter Pokemon can ad-lib having already been to the lab.
Those who are itching to get out of Pallet can hop out of the megathread, and make a new post in the next route, or still in Pallet if they still have personal plans there.
Characters who haven't already made their own threads are duty-bound to dive into someone else's existing thread. Teams are TEMPORARILY ABOLISHED, meaning anyone can travel with anyone else, at least until things get underway! This should develop some cool cr because even when/if we wind up in our groups later, our characters may have threaded for a while with other characters outside of their groups! Phone calls and blog banter and emails and other extra bits of interaction can happen on the side of regular rp so no one is ever bored!

Eridan, I sort of LOVE YOU FOREVER for making this thread (even though I was planning on making it.) There's no rule against coming up with an AWESOME SITE RESCUE PLAN.

Regarding the abolishment of groups, THE GROUPS WERE NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE PERMANENT TO BEGIN WITH? They were intended more as just travelling parties that'd change quite a lot with people hopping about all the time and the idea of teams was idk, poor wording I guess?

Anyway the point is it'd totally make sense if the characters were all travelling with different people at different times.

So, I guess I should go ahead and make other routes, right? Or should we limit how far characters can jump ahead?

This seems like a reasonably good idea. I'm personally all for it (though I'd also probably have Gamz stick with his initial group regardless) if it helps the sitchy-ation. I keep forgetting who all we actually have at this point anyway though. I forgot where i was going with this.

On the whole, I am very much in favor of this action -- but not just for temporary action; rather, I see this as an integration of the next step -- actually making this a manageable forum RP, to be blunt. Though I would not recommend taking out groups altogether (which might keep things from progressing well and actually gives people a way to springboard into new threads -- think about it, what if Character A and Character 1 get along very well in their team, and this leads them to want to make more thread with each other detailing their journeys on the side -- it works out very well), I do think we should be much looser with them. People will be able to join up, break off, and go solo as they wish -- whatever happens happens and the roleplay itself is a very organic thing.

Plot threads are times for when something important is supposed to go down, and we can either work it as one more huge main thread OR -- and I like this avenue much better -- creating a separate board so many different threads can go on at the same time, so people aren't forced to be with characters they have no logical business being with during a time of disaster.
Having straight up liquid time also alleviates any problems Gym Leaders and Wild Pokemon might present. This isn't the anime -- just forcing someone to wait while someone else is battling a leader is just kind of stupid.

(John, if you want to talk about wild pokemon, just shoot me a PM -- I can give you a rundown of how I used to do it and maybe we could work from there. That or catch me in the box I guess).

This will incite more RP, might make the world more interesting, and overall give us a chance to grow our characters. Which is always a beautiful thing, if you ask me.
We might want to install a sort of "timeline" thing -- like seasons/etc to make sure we're all on the same general page (but nothing like days -- don't even), but besides that we'd probably become very non-linear, which is actually very important to the growth and success and -- more importantly -- the entertainment value of forum RPs. As you all have noticed, waiting on people isn't fun -- and it's very hard to keep everyone involved when there's 2O players and we have to wait for so-and-so.
This is just the logical route here.

To be honest I'm not sure why we haven't done this before, but it's better late than never.

I don't know. I prefered the idea of sticking linear to begin with, but it's obvious that it's not really working. In hindsight, it should have been kind of obvious replying on 20 people to all keep active and reply to each other straight away was a dumb idea.

I'd been considering liquid time for ages, but I wasn't sure how it worked. It's all a lot clearer now to me now, though! Implementing it seems pretty simple. Me and Kanaya will draw up some ground rules/guidelines.
