(okay, sorry to get this rp off to such a mediocre start!)
John was sitting on a wall just outside the registration office in Pallet Town, carefree smile on his face. He’d not got much sleep last night, having been on-line “bonding” with Karkat and bickering with Vriska, along with commenting on everyone else’s blogs, pretty late into the night. His Dad had been right, he was tired as hell, yawning a little every so often. Regardless, John was determined to stay full of energy and get his adventure off to a good start.
That was difficult to do though, when he was just sitting around waiting for the others to show up. He let his new Charmander, Casey, out of her ball so that she could sit next to him and he’d least have some company. He patted her on the head gently. It was April the 13th, a day when he, along with so many of his friends, was going to register officially as Pokémon trainer and start his journey.
“It’s also my birthday!” he informed Casey, “I’m thirteen today. Let me tell you, having cake for breakfast is the worst idea ever. I still feel a little sick.” He’s packed a bunch of leftover cake (which was a lot; his dad always baked stupid quantities of the stuff) in his rucksack to share with the others later, along with other supplies he’d need for traveling. “I wonder when everyone’s going to show up? It’s going to be so cool meeting them all. Though honestly, I expected Karkat to be here by now. To massacre me, or whatever.” Casey didn’t join in with his laugher, looking up at him curiously, but he just grinned at the creature and leant back, looking around for any sign of the other trainers.
