Roxy looked at the girl sat opposite her with annoyance. She kind of got this a lot! Not that she could blame people, having pink eyes was about as rad as it got and she was totes lucky.
“Yup! All natural, babes. Pretty cool, right? It means me and Hermione here totally match.” She gestured to the Pokémon sat beside her, before looking back at the girl in front of her. Shit, she looked familiar. What if…
“Hey, hold the fucking phone. Are you-”
And at that moment, some other guy arrived. There could be no doubt about who this particular dude was. “Dirk????” She knew it was Dirk for certain, she’d recognize those stupid shades anywhere. “Omg, it really is you two! This is sooooo great.” She held out a hand to each of them, fully expecting a high five.
“Why d’ya think I’m in Saffron, dummy? Pokémon contests! Also, I was gonna meet up with Janey here. Guess that’s sorted now!” She leaned forward across the table to give Jane a hug, barely bothering to conceal her elation at finally meeting two of her best friends.
Jane looked up as she heard Dirk announce the name of the newcomer, hearing the comment of her eyes being the right color.
"So it was you!" She giggled as she felt her friend's arms around her in a hug. She returned the hug happily and pulled back to look her over.
"You're just as drunk offline as you are on." She smiled affectionately, moving her lunch over to let Dirk sit beside her if he wanted to/ She meant it in the most friendly way possible. Seb bounced over to Hermione, chattering away with a smile at the kitten.

Roxy stretched her open palm towards Dirk again while she hugged Jane. He met it with a totally sweet hi-five. It's rude to leave a girl hangin'. "Great to finally meet you, Roxy."
Jane scooched over so Dirk could sit at her side of the table, leaving just enough room for him to feel comfortable. He accepted the offer.
"Well shit. May as well complete the three musketeers." He bounced Squarewave's Pokeball off the floor and caught it in his hand again. The Pokemon came out in a flash of white light.
He leaned over and glared at his Pokemon, gravity conveniently revealing his eyes from underneath his shades. "No funny business this time, alright? This is no place to start a fight without warning."
Squarewave shrunk back at first, but then a stroke of bravado hit him. He stood up straight, picked his molten skin up, and gave a Leer of his own right back at Dirk.
Dirk chuckled to himself. "Go make some friends."
Squarewave waddled over to the other two Pokemon and attempted to enter their conversation.
Roxy felt Dirk hi-five her mid hug, and turned to pull him into a hug as soon as she was done with Janey. Maybe she was being a little over affectionate, but hey! She'd been sort of lonely going about on her own so long! Besides, this was awesome. Like, a 2x friendship combo. If only Jakes was here, they’d have all of the four musketeers! Whoever the four musketeers actually were. Some rad dudes with muskets, she guessed. “Janey, what are you SAYING? I’m not even that drink.”
Hermione seemed to react positively enough to Lil’ Seb. Considering Roxy had basically kidnapped the poor thing, the Skitty appeared remarkably happy to go along with her adventure. When Squarewave came sauntering over, Hermione mewed at him cheerfully, hopping over to make room for him beside them.
“So, Diiiiiiiiiiirk. Has yur Scraggy been picking fights??? Does auntie Roxy need to have a few WORDS with him?” She looked at the group of Pokémon and folded her arms with mock severity, before laughing and turning back to her friends. “Oh! Are your guys takin’ part in the contest tomorrow night?”
She rolled her eyes and let out another laugh at Roxy's commentary on Dirk's Scraggy. She moved her lunch to the side and watched as Seb offered the others some of his lunch. She wasn't sure if they would like it, but hey.
Her head turned back to Rolal as she heard the question about the contest tomorrow. Smiling a bit, she shook her head.
"Not me. Seb's moveset isn't good enough for a contest, and I don't have a lot of extra cash to burn on a TM." She took a spoonful of her desert and offered Dirk the side of fries that came with her sandwich.

"Pff. Yeah, he picked a fight with Jake's Squirtle yesterday. I'd keep an eye on him if I were you. Normal types don't tend to do well against Fighting types." Squarewave made a sudden movement in Dirk's peripheral vision, causing him to glance in that direction. However, he seemed to be behaving.
"I am. Between my white hot candescence and Squarewave's undying tenacity, we're bound to win." Jane handed him some real fries, which he happily accepted. Real potatoes and all.
Speaking of Jake, where was he? They were supposed to meet up again in Saffron, but Dirk never told him his exact location. He took his smartphone out and opened Pesterchum.
-- taillowTestified began pestering golgothasTerrakion -- TT: Dude. TT: I'm in the Saffron Pokemon Center with Jane. TT: We ran into Roxy in the cafeteria. TT: Why don't you come over and give the other two a surprise?
“Heh, Hermione doesn’t have so many moves either, but I’m thinkin’ she’ll make up for it with her extreme cuteness. The judges will take one look at her and be like ‘dang, this Skitty needs 10/10’, yup. Gonna kick your ass, Dirkie.”
While Roxy wasn’t looking, the Skitty in question was happily helping herself to more than her fair share of Seb’s lunch. Greedy thing. Roxy was equally rude, snatching a fry Jane had offered to Dirk. Hey, they were all friends here. Sharing was caring!
“Okie doke. I’m keeping my hella gorgeous pink eyes fixed right ON that Scraggy o’ yours. Though Hermiown and him seem chill enough.” If he laid a finger on her Skitty though, he was going down. What advantages did normal types have, anyway? Roxy could not really think of any and it was sort of worrying. Oh well, at least she looked cute.
“Oi, Strudel! Whatchu doing messing about with yur phone when you have two hot chicks trying to make friendly with you???” She turned to Jane in a stage whisper, “see, told ya he was a big gay homo.”
"A coordinator should be prepared for every conceivable situation. Say the judge sets an unexpected theme. How would you handle that?" Dirk adjusted his glasses. "I don't think you're going to claim victory using physical beauty alone." He just went in for another fry when Roxy stole his.
Jake quickly messaged back, saying something about a literal and metaphorical entanglement with a Bellsprout. He had to admit that the thought of Jake wrapped in a Bellsprout was hilarious, but he was a little disappointed. He was hoping he could see his entire group of friends in one place.
Okay, maybe she was drunker than Dirk realized. "For your information, I was trying to get the four of us together. But it looks like that's not happening."
Jane burst out laughing at Rolal's words, taking the last bite of her sandwich once it died down. She rolled up the crinkled wrapper and placed it beside her drink. She hadn't touched it since Dirk offered her the fanta earlier.
"Rolal, I thought that was pretty obvious?" She gave her a playful wink. They had been joking about Dirk's sexuality for a while now, and he just kept adding fuel to the fire with them.
When she heard that Jake wouldn't be joining them, her face fell a little. They were all pretty much aware of her crush on the adventurer, but she still hadn't gotten the gumption to properly discuss it with him. Still, she wouldn't let that sour grape ruin her time with her best friends.
She took one of the fries from the tray and ate it, pondering what Dirk had said about the contest judging. While it was true that being cute enough wasn't enough, no one could deny that being cute or pretty didn't have its merits. She glanced down at Seb chattering with Squarewave and Hermione and smiled. Seb was a little too serious, but maybe having friends would make him loosen up.
Regardless, she thought of what she could have done with Seb's moveset and with her own somewhat limited imagination. Sighing silently, she took another drink of the fanta. Definately waiting until Sebastian grew another few levels would help in the long run.
"Hm. Seeing as Jake can't join us, should we take Dirk shopping Rox?" She grinned. Jane wasn't serious of course, but it never stopped her from making jokes at her friends expense. After all, if you can't make fun of your friends, who will you make fun of, horrible presidential candidates?

“Hey! I’ll have you KNOW we are a winning compination of brains AND beauty. We can totally handle any lousy theme they come up with. I’m a WRITER, remember??? Though hopefully it’ll be something with scarves, I have a SHITLOAD of them packed.” She looked at her Skitty fondly, confident the girl could beat any competition that came along the way. Roxy’s time spent writing wizard fanfiction would not be in vain. She knew how to be CREATIVE… she hoped.
“Aw man, no Jakester?” Her face fell, disappointed that she wouldn’t get to see all four of her buddies just yet. Especially Jake. Janey wasn’t the only one with a crush on that dorky adventurer. Swoooon. Not that she’d ever actually do anything about it, though. Jane came first! Besides, there were plenty of other fishies in the sea. Roxy was capable of crushing on pretty much anyone. But romantic intentions regardless, it would’ve been sweet as hell to see the dude again. “Ah wellsies. Yur right Janey, let’s go shoppin’, that is totes what girls are meant to do with their gay bffs.”
“Thinking on my feet is one of my specialties. You better bring your a-game.” As if Roxy's writings were anything more than crappy fanfiction. He had this one in the bag.
Dirk rolled his eyes at Roxy, not that you could see them very well behind his shades. Yes, it was true that he did have a crush on Jake. Just like everyone else at this table. It was pretty fucking obvious that everyone and their mother had the hots for one adventuring dunderhead. How this had not become a point of contention between the three of them was anyone’s guess.
Blatant stereotyping aside, he did have some stuff he needed to get. “We could look around a costume shop for some contest accessories.”

She knew for sure that Dirk had a crush on Jake, but Roxy was a bit of an enigma sometimes. She couldn't really tell. She had often wondered how they all weren't just tripping over one another, trying to snag the guys attention. Then again, she was pretty old-fashioned. She waited instead of blatantly going for it, and she thought that that might be the downfall of any attempts made to woo the adventurer.
At the same time, she wouldn't mind it much, as long as they were both happy. Heck, if it was any of her friends that got with him, she'd fully support him. But this wasn't the time or the place for hooking up. She was still a new trainer and she wanted to see Kanto before she became too old to do so.
She agreed with Dirk's comment about the costume shop, taking another fry from the plate.
"I also want to go and see when Crockercorp'll be open to request a tour." She sighed happily. She didn't know why all her friends and her cousin hated the company. In her eyes, they did no wrong.
"Should we pack up and head out then?" She offered, taking another drink of her soda.

“Sounds good to me! Hermione doesn’t have much in the way of accessories and costumes. Maybe we can get some cool cosplay shit for ourselves, too! I wanna get me a Calmasis wig.” She pulled her chair out, having finished her meal, before seeing her buddies still had a little food left. She helped herself to a few more fries, since hey, they wanted to get going soon! She was just speeding things along.
“No way are we going to that den of evilz though, omg. If we go there and she realises how onto her shit I am, I’ll totally get arrested and tortured by her tentacruels or whatevz. You might get in trouble too!” Roxy was genuinely distressed at the notion of visiting Crockercorp. And damn rightly, too.
