>Nepeta: Arrive
Upon departing the airport, Nepeta Leijon wanted to kiss the ground. She wanted to, but she knew better, and resisted the urge. Because of how far away she lived, it was best she either come by boat or plane. Either way was pretty awful, but she chose by plane. She’s not exactly sure why, but, if she had to state a reason and “I don’t know,” wouldn’t be an acceptable answer, she would probably say she chose it because she had never been on a plane before. It was a mistake. Flying is much worse than going by boat. Being stuck in the air like that was probably the scariest thing to happen to her for a long time. So there she stood, looking rather lost in the city. It was kind of scary too, all the noise and activity. She was used to houses in trees, the loud noises coming from the wilderness that surrounded them. It wasn’t scary then, it felt safe. Of course, she had been to the city before; she had crossed the sea and spent a day at Mauville a few times with some kids from Fortree, some even from Lilycove. Those trips weren’t often, though. Feeling somewhat frightened, she desperately glanced around for someone who seemed friendly, so she wouldn’t feel so alone.

Drinking on a boat was such a horrible idea. It turned out Roxy wasn’t so good with ships. They swayed and moved along in the water and the motions made her feel sick as hell. Of course, she’d decided a few martinis would definitely cure her of this seasickness! In hindsight, that had been really stupid.
The nausea that came with drinking too much, when combined with the seasickness, had left her feeling like shit. As soon as she got off the boat she’d puked her guts out into the ocean. Ew.
But whatever, never mind those terrible decisions. Getting onto dry land that didn’t move had definitely helped her feel better, and the walk down Route 6 had sobered her up. By the time she was at Saffron City, she was pretty much functional! Really, it was a miracle she hadn’t been attacked by wild Pokémon on the way there. Perhaps the stench of booze had warned them off?
With a bit of luck, she’d be meeting up with Janey here sometime today, but until then it couldn’t hurt to take a look around, right? She was gonna scope out the Gym, maybe win a contest, lead an attack on the Batterwitch HQ… shit, where was Hermione running off too?
The Skitty was running over to join a lost-looking troll girl. Another new trainer, maybe? Roxy followed her over, glad she was no longer stumbling over her own feet. It wouldn’t do to terrify some poor girl by looking like the City Drunk.
“Hey!” Oh thank fuck, she hadn’t slurred her words, “younew to the skitty tooo?” Damn, she’d definitely fucked up that sentence. “City. S’what I meant. Though that totes is my nosey-ass Skitty. Meet Hermione.” She gave the troll a friendly grin, scooping her Pokémon into her arms.
Nepeta had been so caught up in anxiety that, for a moment, the greeting by the girl hadn’t made sense to her. The words didn’t make sense, only for a moment. She was surprised as soon as she realized, however. She hadn’t had to go up to anyone. Someone had come up to her. Was she lucky, or what? “Oh, hello!” Nepeta replied cheerfully. A grin appeared on her face. She giggled, “you guessed it, I’m new to the Skitty.” Nepeta was pretty glad that she wasn’t the only one who was new to this city. She figured it made sense to not be the only one new, probably some of the other people on the plane were new to the city, but she took comfort in knowing someone who was definitely new. Skitty was a Pokémon she was most certainly familiar with, as a few could be found around Fortree City, her home. The majority she saw belonged to trainers, however, usually women with a strong taste for cute Pokemon. “I mean, I’ve been to the city befur, Mauville City! But this ones a lot bigger, and a lot busier, fur that matter. And it’s in Kanto.” “Oh, and it’s nice to meet you, Hermione!” Nepeta gestured to a Purrloin who had been tagging along not far behind Nepeta, “this is Pounce!” As an afterthought, she added, “and I’m Nepeta. What’s your name?”

Roxy was not completely sure if the girl was making fun of her at first, repeating her dumb mouth-typo back at her. But when she paid attention to the girl’s words, she started to notice something. Something REALLY COOL.
“Omg. Are you using CAT PUNS? That is the cutest-” she paused to hiccup, “-fuckin’ think ever. Ilu.” She made a heart symbol with her hands and thought about giving one of her trademark WONKS, before deciding that would look waaaaaay too cheesy.
“I’ve never actually been here, believe it or not. Even though I’m totes a Kantonian. What a joke, never going to the biggest city in the region, right? Mom’s always keepin’ me in the house, shit sucks. I’m from, like, Fuchsia City, be-te-dubs. Where the Safari Zone and all that is.” Roxy was pretty fond of her hometown, even if she did feel a little isolated at times.
She squealed as soon as the troll's Pokemon was introduced to her. “Woah, Pounce is a cutie. I’d love a Purrloin, they’re so sweet. I basically just want a whole team of kitties, hahaha! Hey Hermione, go make friendly.” She put her Pokemon in the ground and let it trot over to the other cat, sniffing it curiously.
“Nice to meetcha, Nepeta. Can I call ya Neps? And oh, I’m Roxy.” She extended a hand, slightly tipsy grin on her face.

Nepeta took Roxy's hand and shook it, maybe a little to harshly, though she didn't pay much mind to whether or not she did. She paused for a moment, and said "It's nice to meet you too, Roxy! Neps is purrfectly fine, heehee," purposefully using a cat pun this time. "You like cat puns, too? That's great! Not everyone appurreciates them, but they're really fun to make, and it's hard to come up with them sometimes! Other times, they just come naturally to me," she grinned wider than she thought she initially could. Though she could spend all day talking about cat puns, she figured it would be in bad taste, because maybe Roxy would be interested in chatting about something else! So she figured she could change the topic. Meanwhile, Pounce began sniffing Hermione back, unable to decide whether she trusted the other cat Pokemon. "I'm from Hoenn, myself. Furtree City! Or, um, Fortree City. I heard they have some really great contests here in Kanto, though! I mean, the gym challenge thingy in interesting, too, but I prefur to fight with my own claws, not Pounce's. Is there any reason like that that you're traveling?"

“I don’t like cat puns so much as just… kitties in general! I’d probs be pretty shitty at puns, I trend to fuck some of the words up. Hehe, if I cut back on the booze I guess I could try puns, but like that’s ever gon’ happen. Still! It’s nice hearing yours, I’m totes impress- impurressed.” Oh yeah, she was good. Maybe she’d get into this pun thing. Get some sick wizard puns all up in her every day speech.
“Fight with yur own claws????? Hopy shit, catgirl. You sound pretty tough! I dunno what reason I’m undertaking this here sexy journey of self diclovery. I was thinking I’d do some of these contests… and maybe some gyms too. Mostly I just wanna get out and see the world, you know? Meet new people! I spent so LONG cooped up in Fuchia City.” She rolled her eyes, not particularly caring to think about how lousy and crappy it had been.
“So! You in Saffron for the CONTEST??? Me and Hermione are totally gonna enter and kick some ass. I figured I’d stay in the area up until the contest, maybe check out some of the nearby cities too, I guess. Fight some Pokemon on the routes, see the sights, ETC. What’re your plans?” Roxy knew in the back of her mind she was probably being a little overly friendly and possibly annoying this girl, but she couldn't help but feel a little excitable! After all, this was the first fellow-trainer she had met on her travels.
wow ok sorry to be intrusive but I needed to post for the activity check and it'd be awk to interract with characters I'd have to take long consideration into- gomen.

Equius left the train station in Saffron city, carefully and instinctively inspecting the surrounding area. The Kanto region really was different from Sinnoh, everything seemed to be a few years behind. It was nice, though, rather quaint. Places of interest for him here included Silph. co and the dojo. As he walked down the crowded streets of Saffron, Equius observed the city without actively looking around. Less excited than Celadon, and that was a good thing in his opinion. Celadon, as the largest city in Kanto and a shopping city, was always so loud with people buying things here and there and smelled like all kinds of food and perfumes and exhaust- it was all overwhelming. Looking around, he noticed two familiar faces, one moreso than the other. The human girl he'd thought he'd seen before, perhaps at the terminal, or someone who looked like her. The other was unmistakably Nepeta. While rude it would be to approach her mid conversation, it couldn't be helped that he'd desired to speak to his close friend. Nepeta's back was to him, so excitedly talking to her wouldn't be a good idea. Hesitantly, he walked up behind her and quietly mused; "Nepeta-"

“Yep, I’m here for the contest! Good luck kicking ass if you’re up against Pounce and I, because we’re gonna make one hell of a team! Heehee! I’m probably going to end up coming here a lot because of them, so I should probably get used to the city…hmm…anyways. I heard there were some cute Pokemon in the nearby routes, so I’m probably going to go Pokemon hunting once I get settled.” Nepeta rolled her eyes to the ground when she paused to think. What were the Pokemon on the nearby routes, again? Too many to count, probably. If there happened to be any kitties, it would be worth it, though.
"Nepeta-"
Nepeta spun around. Nepeta, of course, that was her name. It couldn’t be a coincidence because she knew the voice.
>Nepeta: Resist urge to hug moirail You fail miserably.
“Equius! Oh my gosh! It’s so great to see you!” Nepeta squealed.
“Oh! Um…” Nepeta let go of her moirail and spun back around to Roxy. “This is my meowrail! Oops, heh, moirail, Equius.”
She turned back to Equius. “And this is my new friend, Roxy!”
Nepeta felt overwhelmed by emotion. She was so excited to see Equius. But, at the same time, it made her a little nervous. It was ridiculous; moirails shouldn’t be scared of each other, right? Of course, Equius wasn’t scared of her, was he? No, most certainly not, Nepeta decided.

Cute Pokemon in the nearby routes, huh? Roxy could definitely get on board with this. Her plan was to have an entire team of total cuties. Cats, if possible, but she’d happily settle for anything pink and adorable.
Roxy had been just about to reply to Nepeta’s boast, when another troll stepped in. He was all big and bulky, and kind of weird looking! Roxy wasn’t sure she trusted this guy. Was he out to attack her cute new kitty friend??? He easily could be, creeping up behind her like some sort of PREDETOR. Definitely suspicious. She was ready to ask Hermione to pounce if necessary.
But wait, it looked like Neps knew this guy. Well, she was giving him an enthusiastic hug, so that was probably the case. At any rate, she should probably stop looking as if she was about to attack him and say hi.
“Nice to meetcha, Eqikins!” she grinned, holding out a hand. Woah, Neps had called her a ‘friend’! That was pretty amazing, who knew she was so good at making friends? And with a really adorable kitty troll, too. Definitely her best achievement so far.
